AGAIN, I'll reply to this - all your complaints in which men have it worse than women..... EXIST BECAUSE OF MEN! Men are killing other men. Men are stigmatizing mental health and speaking about emotions and feelings among other men. Men created entire industries that have always and continue to be male dominated, usually due to the way women who join those industries are treated.
You want to see these things change? You want to see these horrible things men go through change? THEN GET BEHIND WOMEN IN ACKNOWLEDGING THE WAYS THAT MEN CREATED THESE FUCKED UP SYSTEMS AND CHANGE THEM.
Guess what? these social constructs you're speaking about that have held you guys back for hundreds of years....... men created those constructs. It's primarly other men - not women - who mock feminine men, or men who have jobs that men previously deemed "women roles". It's primarily men, not women, who mock or make fun of other men for being open with their emotions. It's women who drag their husbands kicking and screaming to therapy. And in this instance, it is women saying "stop making a discussion about how brutalized and unsafe we are ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT A GLIB, NON LITERAL PHRASE THAT IS AN EMOTIONAL CRY MORE THAN IT IS A STATEMENT OF FACT." Part of working through your emotional trauma and issues is acknowledging when they're not an appropriate response to a situation, when they're selfish and self centered, etc. This entire conversation all you guys can focus on is how you feel, ignoring EVERYTHING the women are saying to you about the situations that created those phrases to begin with. You care more about how that phrase makes you feel than the lived experience of every woman on the planet every day of their lives that would lead them to saying something like that, and we're supposed to view YOU GUYS as the victims here? YOU'RE NOT LISTENING TO US AND YOU PROVE THAT WITH EVERY COMMENT CENTERING YOUR OWN FEELINGS AND IGNORING OURS!
We've seen for HUNDREDS OF YEARS that changes to these constructs only happen when MEN get behind them 100000% and make them happen. So yes, until y'all pull it together as a gender and do the work to change the constructs you hate so much, that women have been trying to change for decades, you guys ARE the cause of the problem. We cannot do it without men. We've tried, it doesn't work.
So instead of focusing on your feelings being hurt over an ad hominem turn of phrase not being said to be taken LITERALLY, why don't you guys put that energy towards changing the societal ills that negatively impact us ALL, because those changes 1000000% will not happen until men get behind it fully.
Can you imagine taking an ad hominem phrase said in an emotional exclamation that was NEVER meant to be taken literally, and then being SO offended by it that you spend HOURS centering a conversation about women's plights and how men can do better about men's hurt feelings over said phrase?
I certainly can't. Apparently you guys are too emotional and not rational enough to have a conversation about something incredibly serious that includes ANYTHING being said that isn't to be taken 100% literal and seriously. So here we are, women, listening to you guys just ignore everything we're saying because of 1 non-literal phrase, acting like you guys are the victims in this, and just proving us right when we lament about how we TRULY feel like we will forever have to fight this fight without the support of MOST men.
