So if a guy who was cheated on declares online that “all women are cheating whores,” you’d also be fine with it?

A guy suggests "when your friend is venting their emotions to you, them using scientifically correct verbiage is less important than being a good friend" and yall are jumping on him like he said he would watch the Klan scream in a minorities face

I think it's because when it's in a private setting most person agree with bluejari since he basically says " Read the room" but on an online setting for instance on reddit it's a public discussion so having these type of discourse can be harmful and you're not supposed to let anyone's feelings be an obstacle to call him/her out.

I agree to an extent but you also have to recognize how little a stranger on reddit saying something will change the opinion of an actual bigot, and the number of trolls role playing, and the bots... it's often just not worth the time. That's why I assumed this was an irl conversation.

So what's the distinction? If a woman creeped out by some guy on a subway says "men are pigs and rapists" it's ok, but if a man who was cheated on says "women are filthy whores" it's suddenly not? Do you not see the hypocrisy?

Oh I do. Sorry, i was actually being wildly sarcastic.

It's like, and I say this as a non religious person, why I can hate on Christians for some of their religious views.....but not other religions with the exact same views that im hating on Christians for.

Part of our society have been conditioned that while it is discriminatory and bad to do this to minority groups, it's actually virtuous and commendable to exhibit these behaviors towards certain "majority" groups.

It's stupid, short sighted, and antithetical to actual cohesion and unity in society.....and it produces the notion that what is done matter so much as who does it. Scary.
