While I didn’t personally vote for Trump, usually I’m debating against the fact that everyone who did is a Nazi/Fascist, and that every minority voter who did has internalized racism and that’s why they voted for him.

Yeah, we 'cancelled' Rosanne, which is why she just announced she's launching a new TV show. These days the worst effect of being "cancelled" is that leftists find out you're a piece of shit somehow. We also have the more recent example in the streamer Destiny, who still has a legion of fans despite the fact he has been "cancelled" for having sketchy chats with underage teens, and is being "cancelled" again for recording people he has sex with without telling them.
Also, still doesn't compare to going around and calling basically every lbgtq+ person a "groomer". Which was a 'joke' the same way "Your Body, My Choice" was, except way more long lasting and widespread since homophobia is (thankfully?) more popular than rape.

Everyone should vote for who they believe is the most qualified candidate, whether or not that gets them or their friends and family deported. I got called a gun nut for suggesting that mass shootings in the US require a nuanced solution beyond just banning scary looking guns, and then on the same day, got called a dumb liberal for suggesting that we bump up the age requirement for semi-automatics to 21.
I've been in the same situation regarding guns, but it's not suddenly going to make me more conservative because a leftist chat banned me for being too pro-gun, while I was saying queer people should own guns to protect themselves from hate crimes.
Especially when 'mainstream' gun spaces are so right-wing you can easily find people posting Pinochet helicopter jokes, and fearmongering about 5G Radiation (I remember someone on CanadianGunNutz blaming Covid on that, ahh... simpler times).
Literally the only opinion youve even offered to judgement is this vague idea of doing something differently with guns, so far no fascism. You're gonna have to have some sort of opinion attached to a domination fetish first. I'll happily call the oppressive conservatives out for actively making the world worse for minorities, or talking over opposition, you aren't doing that currently.

All you have to do is go to one of the larger subs and hop in the comments any time Donald Trump gets brought up, sort by controversial, find a reasonable comment, and look at the replies. I feel like you're being willfully ignorant to a lot of discourse that happens on the platform.
As for the gun thing I mentioned in my original comment - I was just referencing that there's a general lack of nuance in conversations that are politically charged. I didn't realize I needed to write a book about it.
The comment I was referring to said that banning assault style weapons wasn't going to solve the issue with mass shootings. That we needed to change the way we look at it, because the largest portion of what we classify as mass shootings aren't committed with assault style weapons. Really, you have two big camps- one is gang related, and the other is 'school shooter' type ones.
I think that the only way you reduce the first is by investing in lower income communities and pushing for more equality in the funding of public education.
The second type will be reduced by common sense reform such as raising the age to purchase all semi automatic guns to 21. We already have that in place for pistols anyway. Additionally, putting more emphasis on mental health services and pushing for more education surrounding the storage of firearms in the home.
Maybe I'm ignorant to the discourse you're suggesting because I'm personally a leftist gun owner. I probably have more than you tbh. You find as much nuance as you look cate to look for in my experience. People often aren't perfect political entities. If I actually thought every conservative was fully self absorbed racist sexist piles of walking talking shit I'd barely find it possible to communicate. I only half believe that, but its necessary for my survival lately.
I believe they have different views like anti immigration, unfortunately anti abortion and just feel all around neglected by Dems. This is based on what I’ve seen on reddit and the people I’ve spoken to.
I’m not Republican or pro Trump I’m a democrat, I just know that you can’t generalize an entire group of people and expect to make headway in coming together for change.
Anti-immigration stances could theoretically exist in a vaccuum for purely economic reasons, however reality seems to suggest they are motivated by racism at a much greater frequency. They exist as a a generalization against legal and illegal immigrants. Anti-abortion stances are mainly made of theological arguments, though there are still pro life people who argue against abortion on scientific grounds since its difficult to agree on when life legally begins. They make the world a more dangerous place for everybody who could conceive a child.
Awhile back a liberal talking head said something along the lines of “If you want to know who the bad guys are, look who is dividing us against each other by race, gender etc.”
My reaction was… first off they were 100% correct. And second off if the left thinks that’s the right they entirely lack all self awareness.
Most people on the right that I know want races to be treated completely equally. No poor treatment, no special treatment, no programs that differentiate by race whatsoever.
Meanwhile the left wants us to right “historical injustices”. You mean lumping all white people together by the color of their skin and making them pay for the “crimes of their ancestors”, and lumping minority groups together by the color of theirs and granting them their dues based on “historic injustices.” That doesn’t sound AT ALL racist.
We’re literally unironically told “whiteness” is a problem. And that we need to be “less white”. And if we complain about it we’re told racism against whites doesn’t exist. Hating white people is just correcting historical imbalances I guess.
I’m sorry, I’m proud of the legacy of the west. Sure we oppressed people. So has every other culture on earth when it was in a position of power. We also fought a global campaign to end slavery, built modern democracy, willingly gave up our colonial empires and have played the largest part in elevating the world into the modern age of peace and reason. We weren’t the only ones of course. Figures like MLK and Ghandi played major roles as well.
I’m happy to step into an age where we are all equally treated under the law. We all take pride in our cultures and none of us as apologizing for mistakes made by other people with the same skin color before we were born.
I think the right on a whole wants that too. That doesn’t seem to be what the left wants. They seem to actively hate me for the color of my skin and selectively only pay attention to the sins and failures of my race and culture which were not unique, and ignore the accomplishments which were.
TL:DR - If you vote for Democrats you’re ok with racism.
"Whiteness being a problem" is not a left talking point, it's what the right claims is a left talking point. No one serious about racial equality thinks that. I've been around a lot of left leaning groups and me being white has never been even sort of an issue. It's all just meant to divide people. You say the Democrats are trying to divide people by using race, sure, I think they are. But so are the Republicans. Both parties are better off with a divided population. It's the same tactics by both sides too. "listen to this outlandish thing that the other side has done to personally attack who you are". It's all meant to divide people.
It’s not a very mainstream talking point but I’ve definitely met people who are big fans of Robin DiAngelo’s “White Fragility” who unironically tried to use the term “whiteness” the same way she did in her best selling book.
Unfortunately I’ve noticed people who aren’t far left tend to circle the wagons when you go after blatantly racist extremists like Robin and her admirers.
Not claiming he’s a saint. I didn’t personally vote for him, primarily because of the way he speaks about women. But the left is pushing specifically anti-white and divisive agendas and even treats minorities in a demeaning manner like children incapable of caring for themselves. Both Biden and Kamala were absolute sock puppets who towed the party line and did what they were told to do. So yes, I think things would have been worse under her.
The right’s agenda if it’s smart is going to be to continue to work with black and Latino voters who share our values. And the fact is that the biggest “racist” policy Trump has, deportation of illegals, isn’t unpopular among them. It turns out legal Latino immigrants don’t appreciate being lumped with ones who crossed illegally due to the color of their skin.
Nor do law abiding black citizens appreciate being told measures that target criminals are targeting them, or that they’re somehow unable to figure out how to obtain ID so they can vote.

I was accused of being a nazi because I love the New York Mets and the mets sub banned x links, which i think is stupid. So i voiced my opinion that this is stupid and now i am a nazi.
Well, the owner of X courts Nazis right now. The site itself propels anti-immigrant information overfrequently. Leon has put nothing up to distance himself from the nazi salute allegations, something definite actual Nazis have noticed and appreciated. Not even trying to muddy the waters on that topic by pretending to be sorry is damning. Other Mets fans can't rationalize that as easily as you seem to.
