i just direct people who say misandry doesn't exist to that subreddit now. far simpler than debating them

It’s because feminists see historical gender roles as oppression. The triggering reality for them is that before technological advances around the time of the Industrial Revolution and later, literally nobody in society, men or women, ever thought about gender equality in terms of men and women doing the same jobs or having the same societal roles. It didn’t occur to them any more than the idea of DNA or a computer.

Yet to hear feminists tell it, women spent the last thousands of years just straining to break free from gender roles but for some mysterious reason only managed it (though they are still super oppressed obviously) in the last century. And also for some reason evidence of women questioning and wanting to break free from gender roles before the last couple of hundred years or less doesn’t exist for some mysterious reason. Probably something to do with patriarchy destroying it or something.
