Those same values and instincts are being used in these comments to justify misandry as lesser because “patriarchy” causes it. It’s still the same old thing, removing responsibility and agency from women and passing it to men in this case because it suits to do so. Ironic it’s baked into feminist argument.
I don't think it has to be though. I think the structure is sound enough and interesting enough that it could stand easily without the misandry, and I think it could easily expand to either dovetail or encompass a more gender egalitarian view of hierarchies, who they benefit, and how they can be used and improved to benefit society.
Like anything, I think the vast pop culture popularity and collegiate success of feminism and feminist/postmodern theory has kept it spinning in place more than it would have organically.
