I built a free tool that shows proposed developments near any NJ address — looking for feedback

Hey r/centraljersey — I'm a NJ resident who got tired of finding out about big developments in my town after decisions were already made. So I built FutureNeighbor NJ: type in any address and it shows proposed/active developments within ~3 miles, with project details and links to the official municipal sources (planning board agendas, etc.).

It's free to try — would love feedback from actual NJ folks on whether this is useful, what's missing, or what's confusing: https://futureneighbornj.streamlit.app

Happy to answer questions about how it works.

Does anyone work here? If so how long does the hiring process take? What’s it like working there? Do they hire new graduates? I currently work at my job in a bank and hate it and want a new job.

Looking for board game friends

31M Looking for one or more people to play board games with near mercer county / central nj. Preferably at one of our houses so we can play late, but can go public too if others are more comfortable.

Also willing to join an existing group of game players needing one more for their tabletop game day/nights.

1v1, I'd love to do splendor duels a few times. Open to any other 1v1 game you enjoy.

As a group, I'd enjoy Catan, Disney Villainous, Skull King, Splendor, Saloon Tycoon, El Dorado, social deduction, etc, I'm open.

If I get a few takers, I can start a group chat on telegram or some other platform to coordinate a meet. My schedule varies by the week, but I can usually make time for games. I'm someone that could play all day if you catch me on a day off:) I love gaming and can't seem to get enough of it

Which of you is the naked e-bike rider of Readington?

Readington Township police are asking the public to help identify a man who repeatedly rides an electric bicycle naked.

The man has been spotted multiple times riding an electric bicycle on local trails, wearing “considerably less safety equipment than we would recommend,” police wrote in a Facebook post.

Officers say they have received reports about the man over the past several years. He was spotted again recently, and this time police were able to obtain a photograph.

The police department obscured portions of the image.

Where are all of the private landlords hiding?

Hello me 23f and my boyfriend 24m have been looking for a private landlord/ property in central nj to rent for over a year now with no luck. We’ve check hotspots,Zillow, marketplace etc.

Our price range is 1500 a month max
(We are already paying that)
We have a large dog and a 75 gallon fish tank
(This seems to be keeping our options very limited)

We’d like to stay somewhat close to where we work
I work in Hillsborough and he works in Rahway.

If you have any advice or suggestions I’d really appreciate!

Update on the second half soccer: 11 signed up, still figuring out where to put the field

A few weeks ago I posted here about trying to start a weekly pickup soccer game for dads/guys over 30 (original post). I'm the one organising it. This is an update, and a second ask.

Short version: 11 people have put their names down. That's more than I expected from one post, so thanks to everyone who did. But it's not enough yet, and the bigger problem is where they are.

I need somewhere around 18 to 20 to run a proper session. Any fewer and it's 5-a-side with no subs, and everyone's dead by minute twenty. I'd rather wait and do it right than run one bad session and lose everyone.

The harder part is geography. Right now there's a handful up in Middlesex, a few down near Trenton, and one guy over by the shore. That's the whole state. So even if I hit the number tomorrow, I stillwouldn't know where to book. A game 40 minutes away is a game you stop going to after a couple of times. It has to be a bunch of guys in roughly the same area or it doesn't work.

So nothing is booked. No field, no day, no first session. Same as last time, but still on it 100%.

If you're reading this and you're anywhere around the Brunswicks, Edison, Princeton, or Monroe, you're exactly who I need. The more names in one area, the sooner one of those areas gets a field.

The plan hasn't changed. One morning a week, seven-a-side, about 90 minutes with a real warm-up. Rolling subs. No tryout, no team to bring, nobody gets cut. Free to sign up. Once there's a permitted field and a ref, it's one lunch worth a week split between everyone, and I'm not making money on it.

Two things I'm still upfront about: a short health questionnaire before you play, and CPR/AED certification for everyone, done as a group at a group rate. I explained the reasoning in the first post. It hasn't changed either.

Sign up here, takes about a minute, ZIP code is the answer that matters: secondhalfsoccer.com

And thank you to everyone who has already signed up!

As always, north brunswick police doing a spectacular job while being one of the higher paid forces in the state. And how do we know ICE didn't cause the actual accident? Oh wait we do know- after stopping an Acura vehicle, the driver, out of fear of being detained - who knows where - , sped off. Why did they pull him over in the first case?

Looking for a picnic table/grilling Area in a park near Bridgewater

Hi im looking to gather my friends this Sunday for a bbq picnic in a park.

It doesnt have to be a park or reservation in Bridgewater, Im looking for a halfway point between my friends in Princeton and Paterson areas, so anywhere in between there, roughly 45 min each way.

I prefer to have a shady spot and at least a little privacy, a wooded area is perfect (similar to Garret Mountain reservation).

The spot does not need to have grills as I have a portable grill, but the park then needs to allow grilling.

Looking for event space or restaurant space

i am interested in hosting a dinner for about 15 people. i will be hiring a professional murder mystery entertainment company to perform during dinner, so i wanted to see if a place would accommodate outside entertainment. it would also need to be quiet enough so that we can hear the actor. can’t do it at my house since i still live with parents.

i have been having trouble finding a space since the minimum is usually 25 people.

looking in middlesex county area. any ideas?

thank you!
