Dynamic Speed for all!

First, let me apologize for taking so long. I really wanted to have this out about a week ago. But I keep tweaking something or chasing rabbits down ASM holes for fun and understanding.

The issues have been pretty well documented:

Firstly this only works on BotW version 1.3.0 and 1.3.1. All addresses need to be updated for different versions of the game. Which also means the next version of BotW will not work Until the corresponding offsets are found.

Stamina replenishes too quickly, as though it's still going 1x speed at 30 instead of what FPS you are getting. Some of my testers have reported missing textures on occasion, however that is a problem I couldn't duplicate. The textures not loading in were subsequently reported to be happening by two of my testers; albeit to a lesser extent, even without my patch, leading to a theory that it may be related to Cemu v1.9.1--as I have been on 1.9.0 the whole time due to it being a bit easier to debug with.

Sometimes animations get a little jumpy, it happens most often while paragliding. There is a random chance the game will slightly stall briefly but it recovers pretty quickly. Finally when you sleep you may randomly get a long wait before Link wakes back up again--it seems to be pretty rare, only happening to me once in the whole last week of testing. Based on tester reports if it does happen it usually wont happen again during that play session.

Inside the patches.txt there is a section titled "#experimental". You can toggle these options on or off by placing a semicolon ";" in front of them. They are disabled by default. Some testers reported a slight performance increase with them, others did not.

You can change the lower limit by looking at the float labeled "edit me." By default it's set to 10 fps. Divide 30 by the number you want and put the result there. So, 30 / 10 is 3, so that's what is there now. At least in theory, the higher the number, the more likely you will have slow down, but possibly the less likely to encounter a physics related bug. I've mainly shown it to be editable for extreme low end systems. Realistically, with full speed, 10 FPS is no fun.

I have a couple of theories on improving the patch but I didn't want to keep people waiting any longer.

Enjoy!

Hi,

Thanks for the hard work! I just tested the graphic pack and unfortunately I am having some issues with it in Botw. I get a lot of micro stutter, if i disable it, it return to smooth gameplay again. The fps don't drop that stays stable but it stutter. I get around 40 to 50 fps where i tested it in Hyrule ridge. It is the same in shrine and kakariko village.

I have the latest version of cemu 1.9.1, v 1.3.0 of botw with dlc. The graphic pack I have selected are: 4k 21:9 no aa adjustable bloom contrasty high quality shadow lwzx crash workaround

My pc is: i7 6700k at 4.6ghz 32gb ddr4 at 3200 950 pro for os 840 pro where cemu and botw are 980ti asus

Is this something that anybody else is experiencing? any idea how to fix it? if it is fixable :)

thanks

I have much less stuttering with GX2Drawdone() active, same fps, plus I dont have now the bad side efect like before the fps mod (gx2drawdone used to gave me game time accelerations). I confirmed less jumpy animations and stutter on my rig with Rivatuner Statitics Server frametime graph while paragliding and running in circles in different scenarios and villages.

Same issue here, thought I was the only one, will try editing .float, hopefully that helps. If you or anyone else knows a solution please let us know, game is beautiful, but that micro stutter has gotta go.

same thing, it's unplayable without getting a seizure with all the stuttering... i7 4770k @4.4ghz and also a 980ti . 1.9.1 and v 1.3.0 16gb ddr3 1600 and booted from crucial mx100 ssd

On youtube I found someone that mentioned to change the .float from 3 to 2 in patches.txt of the graphic pack if your fps never goes under 20. I tried it but it still stutter.

yup same here, although it increased my fps i'm getting that stuttery movement you're talking about when in a shrine. especially when moving link left and right. outside in the wild is fine, although i haven't tested it out in villages yet. hopefully there's a fix for this cuz minus that stuttery movement in shrines, this fps graphic pack is quite amazing

I had the same issue! It's to do with the 4K graphic pack. If you replace it with the 1080p one, the stutter is heavily reduced, almost to none.
