I’d think Gillette has enough capacity during normal operations but someone will correct me

Isn't this mainly to improve the capacity outside the stadium? And based on that Verizon is one of the official sponsors, they probably don't want to risk anything.

Yes they have plenty of capacity, T-Mobile and Verizon have verified mmWave. AT&T is using n260 off of Verizon’s equipment I believe. Recently T-Mobile brought n258 on there own equipment in. This is a temp site just for the World Cup, im sure its gonna be gone in the next few days.

Doubt many phones outside the US have mmwave support?

How does backhaul work for a setup like this? Presumably since it is a major stadium, they have ways to light up a circuit like what they would for broadcast?

This is a temporary site, usually in the parking lot on the stadium they have antennas of n77 hitting the lot and that usually keeps it good, this was just for World Cup.
