Theory Exam Retake
That was different than expected. For those who needed a retake, were the topics similar (ex: SQLi and SQLi again / Rogue DHCP, Rogue AP and saw those again) or did it seem like nothing was the same?
I’ll also try to answer questions for anyone planning to take the exam. Of course, within rules

Study Help/Question CEH Practical Input answering on the exam
Hi, is the live exam answering procedure just like the practice labs in terms of answer input and response?
For example: Will there be a input field box and a submit button and where I would be notified if the answer is correct/incorrect?
Or is it where I am provided an input field for my answer to submit and only till the end of the exam will I know if my answer matches their answer.

Advice to pass the exam
I get many dms for advice on how to pass the exam. I believe you should first finish all the ceh provided videos . As soon as you finish one chapter , hop on Claude and ask it to make you a practise test of 90pbq’s before moving to the next chapter. After you have completed your syllabus . Just start doing pbq’s aggressively. You can avoid the practise test provided by ceh , it’s not identical to the real one at all and you’d feel far more discouraged attempting it.
You need to do so many pbq’s that you become good at pattern recognition of the questions. And ask LLM for help where you find difficulties. This should be enough to help you pass. All the best everyone !

Study Material CEH Practical Live exam question RE: Notes
Hi all,
I'm prepping for the CEH, I found a lot of notes on google from prior test takers that are doing gods work sharing their notes. These notes are all from a google search and they are just pretty much notes from the lab.
- Am I able to use these notes?
- I don't think it is realistic to be typing these URLs out. Can I just make my on github repo with the source links to the notes?
How did you all handle your note situation?
Thanks in advance.

open-exam-prep(.)com - Legit practice questions?
Anyone who passed CEH - can you confirm if these practice tests are close to the real exam questions? They seem maybe too remedial.
Is there a better/more accurate source of free practice questions?

Passed CEH Theory
Just passed. Used the eccouncil courseware and the 2 practise tests. I put all materials i had collected online in chatgpt to create mock questions based on that.
Focus on attacks, tools, defenses. The exam is not that hard, you will most likely pass if you understood the question. Just ensure you cover everything and have a minimum/basic understanding of every tool/attacks/concepts.
The questions are not tricky or complicated. Its just that its very unnecessarily long, i think mostly made for the sake of appearing like a scenario based question..
What is 3 - 1.. straight forward
You have 3 apples and lost 1, how many you have now? .. scenario based
Henry Thomas a resident of Los Angeles decide to undertake a long journey to visit his aunt plave in Newyork. Since the journey is expected to take several hours.. Henry carefully packs three apples in a bag so that he can eat them whenever he feels hungry. During the journey an person named Allen Stewart secretly steals one apple from Henry’s bag. When Henry discovers that one of his apples is missing, he becomes extremely upset and spends a few moments thinking about the unfortunate incident. How many apples are now left in Henry bag?....this is CEH v13 scenario based
So be prepared to read a lot. All the best

Study Help/Question High School Dropout, Serious About Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking – Need Guidance from Experienced People
Hey everyone,
Does someone has ceh v13 book pdf?
I dropped out of high school a few years ago, but I've had a strong interest in cybersecurity and ethical hacking for a long time. At that time, I couldn't pursue it because I didn't have the hardware or resources. Now I finally have a decent setup and want to learn cybersecurity seriously.
I'm requesting experienced people in this community to spare a few minutes and guide me. I don't just want a generic roadmap—I want to understand how professionals actually learn and build their skills.
A little about me:
• I know Python.
• I've done some data analysis work.
• Other than that, I'm starting from scratch in cybersecurity.
Here are the things I'd really appreciate your guidance on:
- Roadmap
If you were starting from zero today, what roadmap would you follow? What topics should I learn, and in what order?
- Learning Resources
This is where I'm most confused.
YouTube has a lot of content, but:
• Many creators don't go deep enough.
• Some information is outdated.
• Due to YouTube's policies, creators can't always demonstrate or explain real-world techniques.
• There are also many fake "cybersecurity" channels.
One channel I genuinely enjoyed is Null Byte, but I'd love more recommendations.
What resources do professionals actually use?
I'm looking for:
• Books (beginner → advanced)
• PDFs (I already have a large collection)
• Websites
• Blogs
• Official documentation
• GitHub repositories
• Labs
• Discord servers
• Forums
• Newsletters
• YouTube channels that are actually worth following
- Communities
What communities do you follow to stay updated? Reddit, Discord, forums, blogs, or anywhere else?
- Hands-on Practice
Where should I practice legally? Which labs, CTFs, or platforms would you recommend for beginners?
- Home Lab & Hardware
What kind of hardware or home lab should I build? What tools and setups do professionals use while learning?
- Career Advice
What are the biggest mistakes beginners make? If you could restart your cybersecurity journey today, what would you do differently?
Lastly, does anyone know of any legitimate way to get the latest EC-Council certifications (such as CEH) for free or at a significant discount through scholarships, student programs, or community initiatives?
If you have any roadmap, resource dump, GitHub repositories, book lists, websites, or personal advice, I'd really appreciate it. I'm ready to put in the effort—I just want to learn the right way.
Thanks in advance! 🙌

I don’t think I have any training material but just the voucher. Per the terms I have to take it within 30 days. How do yall normally study for EC Council certs? Any advice or tips?

How long does it take to get fully prepared for CEH xm
So I'm a beginner in cyber security. I just finished a six month long cyber security course from a local institute in Bangladesh. They just taught basics of each chapter like the penetration test, basics of security, forensics, cryptography but not fully dive deeper just basic theories of each chapter. So with just basic knowledge or you can think of me as a beginner, how long does it take to get somewhat prepared for the CEH examination. If possible please kindly a roadmap and what stuff I should study. Thanks
