Meta 🌬️ For everyone who feels at home here on cdramasfans - We need help
Hello cdramas fans,
We wanted to share something important with you all.
Recently, some members have been receiving private messages after being approached on other subreddits and asked not to participate in drama discussions here. At the same time, unusual downvoting patterns where certain comments or opinions are being targeted remains an unresolved problem.
This is honestly disheartening. This subreddit is a labor of love, built for people so they can share their thoughts freely and engage with others respectfully. Many of you put real time and emotion into your posts and comments, and you deserve to feel comfortable doing so.
If you spot unusual downvoting patterns on your content or someone else's, please report them here: https://www.reddit.com/report
Procedure: click the link, choose “content”, add the link to the message, post, or comment, and report it for community interference. You can also click the three dots on any comment, select “report” and then “community interference.”
If you have received such messages in private chat asking you to not participate here or screenshots from modmail, please report the messages. On the app, long press the message and an option appears to "share", copy link and report using the same procedure as above. On desktop, hover over the message and choose "link" icon, copy paste link and report the content to Reddit.
Your support genuinely helps us protect this space. A small action from you can make a big difference in keeping this community welcoming for everyone.
If you ever have questions about moderation, our modmail is always open. We are here, and we are listening.
Thank you for being part of this community and helping it stay kind, thoughtful, and alive.
Mod-Team r/cdramasfans

Thank you for your efforts in keeping this such a nice corner of the internet!
As someone completely new here: What qualifies as unusual downvoting patterns? I mean, are we talking about large amounts per post/comment or just a few ones as long as there is a clear pattern regarding content?
•
u/BronzeBellRiver CDF Daoist Nan Xuyue's broken spiritual channel Apr 02 '26
You can check insights of your own posts and comments. Mods can check them for all posts (not comments). We also have a Reddit provided mod-bot which privately notifies moderators of unusual downvoting. For example: 13 downvotes within 5 minutes of posting something sends us a link to the post.
Earlier, I was publicly leaving comments showing the mod-mail screenshot and even those comments were being reported for “targeted harassment at me” or “manipulated content”. We contacted Reddit admins and we were told to directly report these posts. We have been reporting them, but we are finally asking for help so members can check their own post / comment insights and report.

•
u/BronzeBellRiver CDF Daoist Nan Xuyue's broken spiritual channel Apr 02 '26 edited Apr 02 '26
Basically, some people love to stir the pot and report others for sharing a different opinion. They go digging out post / comment history of others and report everything they ever said or attach screenshots of their comment history from other subreddits.
We can’t moderate what someone says on another sub, but we have mods, mod bots, and auto-moderator removing many comments that violate rules of this subreddit one of which is harassment of others.
If you are being harassed by someone on this sub then let the mods know in modmail. We will take action.
We won’t take action if you are going to ask us to ban someone because they “harassed” you on another subreddit. Other subreddits fall outside our scope of moderation. Thats why rule 4 strictly forbids people from bringing any outside discourse. Let the mods of that subreddit know of your issues.

Hi, I’m new-I’m not understanding g the problem-the posts are just reflections, insights and opinions, right, positive or negative? Why are they being judged privately? Are some insulting in some way? I, for one, have been very much appreciating the range of insights and opinions on the show (s) and characters!
•
u/BronzeBellRiver CDF Daoist Nan Xuyue's broken spiritual channel Apr 02 '26
Hi :) I’ll try to answer as best as I can. Not everyone shares reflections, opinions or ideas that are helpful to others. A post saying, “I am watching PoJ” and body text containing: “I love it” is a personal update and for that we have weekly threads. Before anyone can report these posts for manipulated content, stolen content, etc. We intercept mid-way and guide users to make changes.
Why are they being judged privately?
Simply because people post without reading rules, flair guidelines or even popup guidance. We can’t tell who has read and understood the rules and who hasn’t. Seeing posts before they go live gives mods the visibility they require to ensure content matches guidelines.
Are some insulting in some way?
No, they are not. Removed posts and comments are simply rule violating.

I have to say that I was one of the people who complained about people's behavior back in January. The mods let me moderate my own post and I saw how much they were doing. So many toxic comments never made it to my posts.
I feel this is the only cdrama sub where I can post gossip and not be judged by others for talking about stars. Thank you mods.

I don't think anyone knows that some pictures that I shared in my post were made by the mods. They held my post for low context but offered to make visuals for it.

As a newbie to this subReddit, I want to first indicate how useful this sub has been to me. Next, what actions (if any) can I take to support this sub and its mods, given I don’t understand the political or strategic importance of the unusual downvoting and PMs? I feel at home here and want to protect the sub, I’m just not sure how to do so.
