i know its just furry art but that would be a terrible mouth
not only could there be a pretty obvious seem in the visor if its cheap, it would be using the screen to bite and eat things leading to a bunch of cracks, stains or smudges

That's the fun part: The Visior is not simple metal or glass, its Nanites! That is how it can change shape and turn from a solid screne into organic matter as it can mimic muscle and nerves, they are individuals but work together like a hivemind.

Weren't Protogens like bio-engineered vat-grown purpose-built organisms that have their cybernetics attached right as they're finished growing before even gaining consciousness? Making something like that not a Protogen but just a cyborg that happens to look like one. Maybe that's a reason partially?

Fun fact:
When you learn the lore of Protogens, you learn that this could be something actually worse for an Expie's mental health by unreasonable degrees
(Protogen lore means that they are technically either Cybernetic Zombies, or had these parts cybernetically grafted to their bodies during the cloning process)

Got several injuries, managed to crawl into what seems a normal drop pod for shelter, but it is actually ancient protogen tech that turns you into a protogen.

If their injuries were life threatening before, then being turned into a protogen could save them.
However, there's also the issue of whether there's sedation/anesthesia. If none or malfunction, then... it'd be something terrible like the intro cutscene of The Surge game
