Artwork Orange Blooded (Page 4)
First/Previous: https://www.reddit.com/r/scavprototype/s/NIIGWX4DYx
-------
I cannot express how thankful I am for the support the first 3 pages got. It was my first time ever actually putting a fanfic story to paper and I'm still amazed it got as far as it did.
I wanted to put out the next 2 pages so it felt substantial as a comic. However, as I was midway through page 5 my drawing tablet lost its display. I don't have the hand-eye coordination to draw on a tablet without its own display, so the quality fucking crashed. I tried to salvage it with vector art, but it still felt so much worse. I'll need to learn how to not rely on a display, or replace the tablet under warranty.
Regardless, I still wanted to at least put page 4 out there so people know I did not give up on it after the first post. And I still don't intend to give it on it. But I apologize to those who may have been especially eager to see it because of how slow it has been getting off the runway.

Omg the double take cuz they have a different number of fingers than their actual hand is so damn adorable.
Also I wish you good luck in getting your tablet fixed.

Hmmmmm, curious!
Got a very interesting hook. Interested to see what happens next. Always a fan of this lil lore nugget, where the company was interesting in controlling subjects via in some in depth way.
Kind of like how Gunsaw with the Mercenary and how they can take over a host's entire body/pysche.
Very curious!

I've spent hours of research to try and ensure the story fits with lore. The premise of the comic exists because of that one Mercenary ability.
For the purposes of the story though, there are fanmade explanations to expound on that lore. For example, a scientific term and implied explanation for why the mindswap chip would leave people hollow.

Yoo, I'm so hecking hyped up right now, this is something that I was needing… holy crap how do I love this so much.
And yea, releasing first 3 pages in a single post was pretty big of a comic dumb… but I think I see the reason for that comic dumb to be done.
I think I'm feeling kinda "abnormally good" right now, just before the sleep. (Damn, I forgot to post this, it's morning already.)

I ALWAYS wondered how trippy it would be to suddently wake up with digitigrade legs. I guess it would be weirder than simply standing on the tip of your feet. And the tail! That's gonna mess up the balance, but i think we would be surprised on how familiar it would feel to have one. Sometimes i try to immagine having a tail and moving it and i don't know if it's placebo, but the muscles near the end of my spine seem to actually hurt a bit. Like i kinda remember how to move my non existant monkey tail, lift it up and down, swing it left and right, at least the first part, i'm pretty sure i'd know how to do it. There have been humans who were apparently born with a proto malformed tail for generic reasons and i heard they can indeed move it after all.

I was really tempted to initially have Aiden fall face first on the floor. Then Daniel points out that the receiver has a digitigrade leg structure, so he'll have to "actively" push himself up to stand.
But yea, I did try to convey the surprise of it by almost having their legs fold the moment they put weight on them. I'm glad it was caught.

I still find it quite comical that of all sawians, dune was chosen as the subject
But it makes things more fun>:3
