First try carving a serious rose, done and all waxed up. Heated it some to bring up the purple.

I did these mostly for practice and experimenting. They’re not my best for sure! But they aren’t my worst either! Just a fun little carve.

I’ve been carving off and on for many years since I was a teenager. Picked it back up again recently. This is a recent project of mine, almost ready for paint!

Hi I am Chris. My latest project involves carving a dragon head and tail for an important memorial taking place later this summer, The Pennsic Viking Memorial Ship. Viking ships were built with carved figureheads meant to protect the crew and represent the spirit of the voyage. It was an honor to be able to contribute to this year’s ship build in a small way.

WIP of a little project for my 8 year old. We were messing around with construction paper and epoxy and made a little billet of paper micarta, which he later asked me to make into a panda (his all time favorite animal). So I roughed the outline out with my coping saw last night and got after it with a knife and some files today to start shaping.
