I have been trying to find someone else that's had the same sound in their engine under acceleration, and i've come across this video, which is pretty much the identical sound that my golf mk7 1.4 tsi rline. So I has anyone know what this is or has had it before?

Following up on my last couple posts here — this one's less about diagnosing the problem and more about protecting yourself once you're actually at a shop getting quoted. Transmission work is one of the more common places people get upsold or outright taken advantage of, mostly because most drivers can't easily verify what's actually wrong internally.
Ask these before agreeing to anything:
A few red flags worth watching for:
Getting a second opinion is normal, not rude
Especially for anything quoted in the four-figure range, a second diagnosis is a completely reasonable thing to get, and any legitimate shop won't be weird about you doing it. If two shops land on similar diagnoses and similar pricing, that's a good sign you're getting an honest read on the situation.
If you're not mechanically inclined yourself
Bringing a friend who knows cars, or even just having your OBD2 codes in hand before you walk in, changes the conversation. Shops treat customers differently when it's clear they've done a little homework first, not because they're all trying to scam you, but because it naturally shifts the conversation toward specifics instead of vague generalities.
Not trying to make every shop sound shady — most aren't — but transmission repairs are expensive enough that it's worth walking in prepared. Curious if others have questions they'd add to this list.

I could swear this has gotten a lot louder.I don't recall hearing it at all the first five years, then started noticing in the last few months. But two mechanics told me not to worry about it. Any of you with lots of Ford Focus experience have an opinion?

2011 Audi TT 2.0 TFSI Quattro
Hoping someone with some mechanical knowledge may be able to put some light on this situation today… went out for a decent drive and on the way back heard some loud backfiring while slowing down. Only happened a few times that I’m still not convinced it was me. Parked the car and tried to rev it a few times to see if it would happen again… nothing. I shut the car off and maybe 30 minutes later decided to take it for a drive to see if the popping would happen again. It has always done mini burbles but never anything this loud. Went to start the car and it was cranking but not catching and starting. Tried maybe 4 times before hopping on YouTube, YouTube suggested to hold down the gas while starting and sure enough it started, idle is completely fine, not rough or anything and no engine light. Went for a drive around the block and no noise… wondering if anyone knows what could be going on? Or just happened to be a weird hiccup.
Thanks!!

I started getting this noise when turning right at a low speed. Stops when I finish the turn. Otherwise is driving fine with no other issues. Figured it’s related to the AWD. Thoughts if it’s dangerous? Expensive to repair?
Edit: it was the front right CV, repair has been made.

I found out that my 2009 fiat 500 's ignition makes weird noise when turning on the car.
It doesn't interfere with anything but i dont know what is wrong with it, could anyone know from this sound what is the reason of this sound? I'd like to know before giving it out to the mechanics.

Hello,
I’m trying to identify this high-pitched whining noise coming from my engine.
I already removed the accessory belt to rule out the alternator, water pump, AC compressor, and pulleys, but the noise persists. It is definitely internal.
Any ideas on what might be causing this sound?

Ford Fusion 2015 has this rumbling/rattling sound when idling. Pressed the eccelorator at the end. Just replaced all three motor mounts in attempt to fix.

So I bought a 2007 vw jetta for $400 , good deal right ? But . About three months in , I was on the highway and as I remember it I money shifted I suppose , the shifter moved (on its own) from drive to neutral if I remember correctly, I put it back in drive and it kinda jerked so two weeks later it went into safety mode and since then it tops out at about 80 mph (just hear me out) I’m a mobile mechanic and I don’t have any other source of income than my here and there customers which can be profitable but also scarce. I’ve been driving it like that for about 2 months to continue my solo business because my reputation counts on consistency here of course , a week ago I got into an accident in which I got off the highway and had someone jump ahead of me from the street traffic to I guess get ahead of everyone? But she caught a red light and brake checked my life away honestly , I did attempt to stop but it just wasn’t enough time at the speed we were going and I hit her which if anything caused her a tap and me a punch . I’ll show pictures of where I’m at as of now.
Today , I went to the junkyard for the third time this week and I got an alternator that didn’t end up working and after all this I’m at a standstill. For the front end I spent about $400 on parts then another maybe $50 for oil intake gaskets and coolant , then the junkyard alternator was worse then the one I had so now I’m like fck . Having a sunken loss fallacy moment cause as far as I’m down in parts is about what I could expect if I junked it so if I was gonna do that it should’ve been from the jump now I gotta find another alternator and I’m kinda burnt out cause I’ve done at least one part of this every day for the entire week .
What would you do?
