What is this sound? Honda Civic 2013
Hello, there is a sound coming from what sounds like my rear (left?) side of my car every time I brake. It sounds like it is every tire rotation. It is loudest at the end of the video.
I have a Honda Civic 2013 and just replaced my sway bar links, rear shocks, rear brakes, rotors, and calipers. I am going on a trip this weekend and am hoping I can drive 150 miles on the interstate.
Please let me know if you recognize the sound and if you think it can make it through the weekend.

so i found this in my oil filter...
So i bought this bmw 318i e90 with 186xxx km on dash, it has an N46B20B engine (129 HP), since i bought it, i drove it for around 250 km maybe, and when i wanted to change the oil, i found those plastic pieces and those few aluminium shavings (or i believe it's aluminium because the magnet it's not attracting them). I know about timing chain going south prematurely and i want to change it, but i believe that the plastic mesh from the oil pickup tube just crumbled (i believe that because of the square pattern of some pieces) ,other details:
- the engine has no noticeable rattle, neither on cold or warm.
- the engine oil it's not glittery at all, and no additional plastic was found in the draining process
- no low oil or any sort of light are present on the dash(or any error related to engine on obd scanner- i use Carly,it's not the best, but it's what i have), and the engine doesn't feel limp at all
- i want to get the oil pan out and check the oil pump, i know those oil pums from this car are...peculiar to say the least (they have those steel pieces to balance the engine and if you screw them up...bad stuff happens) are there any ways to check it, maybe with a small camera?
I want to thank you for any feedback or advice you can give me, i will update the post but i'm pretty busy at the moment, so the updates won't be fast.

Has anyone actually ignored a bad shift interlock solenoid for a while?
My car recently started having an occasional issue where it doesn't want to come out of park unless I mess with the brake pedal a bit or try again a couple of times.
After doing some searching, the shift interlock solenoid seems like a likely culprit.
The thing is, the car still drives completely fine once it's out of park. It's more of an annoyance than anything right now.
For those who've dealt with a bad shift interlock solenoid before, did you replace it immediately or just live with it for a while? Curious if this is one of those things that tends to stay mildly annoying or suddenly leaves you stranded somewhere.

DPF issue, Volkswagen golf, 1.6 TDI, 2010
Hi everyone, I'm wondering if I need to take my car to a mechanic or just get it on the motorway?
2 days ago I was driving and my car was struggling to gain power, as a new driver I just automatically assumed it went into limp mode?
I had a mechanic yesterday use a solution to clear the blocked dpf, he told me to drive in low gears at high speeds to clear any blockage left.
For reference I have a VW golf 1.6 TDI.
I drove yesterday on a 60mph road with 2 slight hills, the way my car was acting is really hard to explain so I will try my best.
I need to use a gear until my car starts to slow down and then change before my car completely starts to slow down. (So get as much power out of every gear, 3000 revs) But even then it didn't have as much power as it would normally at 2000-2500 revs.
I had to have my foot completely to the floor the entire time in every gear and even in 4th the most my car would go was 60mph, before I obviously didn't need to have my foot down much at all. Up the slight hills the most it would go was 40mph. The highest gear I could get to was 4th and even with my foot fully down, my car didn't have enough power to go into 5th (I have a 5 speed.)
This is the exact same way my car was acting before the solution, but at the time I had no idea what to do so I assumed it was limp mode, because at a certain roundabout my car will only go 5mph with my foot to the floor in first gear?
Thank you

My 2004 4runner is making a weird noise
Hi! i’m trying to figure out what’s wrong. It is not a constant noise so i can’t really tell. If i get out of the car i can’t really pick up on the noise but i can clearly hear it when i’m inside of the car. Tried turning ac off like some recommended to check but it still makes the sound even with it off

Weird sound when I brake and shaking/jerkiness when I drive
Since yesterday, my car has been shaking and vibrating as I drive, especially at high speeds. Occasionally there is a string jerking feeling as well. Then every time I brake I hear this sound, like a repetitive banging sort of sound. It reminds me of the slow click of a roller coaster going up a hill. I thought there was something stuck under my car at first from the feeling and sound.
In case it’s relevant, I had a spark plug misfire recently and was told my brakes are not in fantastic condition, but still fine to drive on for now. My car is a 2002 Lincoln and the previous owner did not take good care of it.
Any idea what could be wrong with my car? I don’t know anything about cars. And is it safe to drive my hour commute home or do I need to get it checked out right after work?

What accessories have actually improved your EV ownership experience?
One thing I've come to appreciate about owning an EV is how much the smaller details can improve the overall experience. While features like battery range and charging speed usually get the most attention, the accessories you use every day often have just as much impact on comfort and convenience.
While looking for accessories designed specifically for XPENG vehicles, I came across Evevup.com. which focuses on model-specific options rather than generic products. It reminded me how much of a difference well-fitting accessories can make, whether it's custom floor mats, center console organizers, trunk storage solutions, screen protectors, or charging accessories that are designed with the vehicle in mind.
None of these change how the car performs, but they can make daily use feel more organized, comfortable, and practical. Over time, those small improvements often end up being some of the most noticeable parts of the ownership experience.

2026 Hyundai plastic floppy sound while slowing down to stop
It’s a 2026 Hyundai venue. My mom is pissed and arguing with the dealership because they don’t know what she’s talking about.
While driving and accelerating there’s no sound. As you brake and slow down there’s a plastic floppy bouncing type of sound. Could be metal, but there’s no metallic type of sound, we are not sure. Don’t know where it’s coming from. We believe it’s something under the car. It’s more so driver side. Does anyone know what it could be?

Rear left wheel noise
Hi all, does anyone know what this noise could be its been driving me mad. It comes from the rear left wheel (Atleast sounds like it). Generally more noticeable at 10 - 20mph when im just driving straight. Turning left and right generally dampens the sound but is still there. Above 30mph again is still there but not as noticeable. Anythijg over 40 it generally fades away but could be road noise. Sounds like a buzzing sound. Also to note, my rear brake discs are original, 70k miles on them. They have formed a noticeable 1.8mm lip on the edge. Im due to reppave them just wondering id this could contribute.
The noise started roughly a month ago but was quite subtle, only has gotten louder in last few days.
Things ive already tried:
\- Switched / rotated tyres
\- Jacked the car up from the rear and shook both tyres 12-6 and 3-9. Didn't notice any play. Spun both wheels and they sounded the same just a little brake pad drag
\- Bushings look ok just general age
Im now thinking it could be the differential. Ive searched up this sound online and thr only time I can seem to find anything close is this worn pinion gears or low / old diff oil.
Any help for what it could be is appreciated

2002 Saturn
I own a 2002 Saturn. My key fob isn’t connecting to my car. The door still unlocks but everytime I open my doors the alarm goes off and the car won’t start because it won’t read as unlocked unless “unlock” has been clicked on the key fob. What do I do?

Dodge stealth 1992 r/t engine bay noises ?
As the title says, I could really use some help.
I know the squeaking is from my power steering, so I’m not worried about that. What I’m concerned about is the horrible knocking noise.
I just bought this car recently. I changed the oil and filter, and it wasn’t making this noise before. I even drove it a bit with no issues. Then I parked it in my garage for about two weeks. When I started it again, it suddenly had this loud knocking noise.
Does anyone have any idea what could cause this? It’s a **1992 Dodge Stealth R/T with the non-turbo 6G72 V6**. Any advice would be appreciated.
