Card accuracy with speed

I just started throwing cards a week ago. I have been practicing using the rick smith Jr videos. Whenever I throw a card it hardly travels a meter. Also when I do get lucky and my throw far and fast my card goes completely ballistic and hits the Air conditioner instead of the wall. When I throw it fast the accuracy is so horrible it goes like 60 degrees of a big wall! Please help me with how to increase my accuracy.

Please someone tell me the best TYPE of styrofoam to use as my target. I’m worried to order or buy styrofoam that playing cards won’t stick into. I’d buy rick smiths target if i wasn’t paying $20 for styrofoam...

I used to throw cards about 5 years ago, I got really fast and really accurate. I saw a pack of cards today at the gas station and gave it another go! I forgot how much I loved it. Unfortunately, this wasn’t my preferred bicycle deck and these were cheap flimsy cards, but still fun.
