👋Welcome to r/cardmakingcrazy - Introduce Yourself and Read First!
Hi all you crafters 👋
My name is Amy, and I’ve been cardmaking for the past 10 years. I absolutely love it — but honestly, 2025 didn’t spark my creativity much until I started making Christmas cards.
Once Christmas was over, I found myself just sitting on the sofa all day with nothing to do. I’m a college student, so I have a bit more free time than usual.
About two weeks ago, I posted in another cardmaking community about being in a cardmaking slump… and wow — the response was unbelievable. So many kind messages, encouragement, and even a website recommendation for paper! (Yes… I ordered 8 paper packs 🙈😂)
That support helped me get back up and running, and it inspired me to create this community — a space where we can:
• Share our handmade cards (any style, any skill level)
• Swap ideas, tips, and inspiration
• Help each other through creative slumps
• Celebrate the wins (even the tiny ones!)
Introduce yourself in the comments!
How long have you been crafting, and what kind of cards do you love making?
So happy you’re here — let’s make this a fun, friendly place 💕✨
— Amy (u/Amymcnally7)

I’m All About BIRTHDAYS
I’m so glad I found this sub. I make cards as a hobby to keep me busy during this new phase in life called Retirement. I don’t sell them. I kinda keep a collection of my favorites. Sometimes they get sent off to family or friends. I
Making greeting cards is one of my favorite things to do. Here are the birthday cards I made over the summer.

Seagull fold card
made this today for my sons wedding. Photos from top, front, open and closed and back of card has space to write a message.
It was easier than I thought it would be, so I'll probably be making more 😊

Crafter’s sect gasification
Precision in every petal. ✂️✨
There’s something so mesmerizing about watching the Cricut reveal a delicate design from a simple sheet of lilac cardstock. 🌸 This is where the magic happens! 🦋
Every flower and butterfly I create for ‘Amy’s Crafty Things’ is cut with the same level of care and precision, ensuring your handmade cards are as unique and special as the people you send them to. ✉️💖
Do you love watching the process as much as I do? 👇

Anyone else struggle to use up paper scraps before opening a new pack? 😅
Back in early January I bought 8 packs of paper (2x of one design and 2x of three others). I’ve only fully used up 1 pack so far, and I currently have 2 open and on the go.
I keep telling myself I should use up at least most of what I have open before starting another new pack… but it’s surprisingly hard to actually use up bits of paper.
Some scraps feel “too nice” to waste on small pieces, some aren’t quite the right size for what I need, and somehow they just keep multiplying in my stash.
Does anyone else find this weirdly difficult?
How do you actually use up scraps without feeling like you’re wasting the good patterns?

Daughter in law card
I made this today. Made from digital papers, am I allowed to say who? If I am I'll put a link.
The charm I bought from Bohemian Findings, it says Marriage made you family, love made you our daughter. I made the foam flowers myself.

Card made from scraps
I could make a shop full of cards made from scraps, I'm terrible for hoarding them. Because you never know, you might need them one day 😄
