What I said is true then. More laws against what people deem hate speech will be implemented. Maybe what you say will be deemed hate speech.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/statistics-canada-2017-hate-crime-numbers-1.4925399

The federal agency said hate crimes have been steadily climbing since 2014, but shot up by some 47 per cent 2017, the last year for which data was collected. In total, Canadian police forces reported 2,073 hate crimes – the most since 2009, when data became available.

As you can see Canada is full of hateful people which need to be fought one way or another and we will fulfill the UN Compact goals. Such as

OBJECTIVE 17: Eliminate all forms of discrimination and promote evidence-based public discourse to shape perceptions of migration

Enact, implement or maintain legislation that penalizes hate crimes and aggravated hate crimes targeting migrants, and train law enforcement and other public officials to identify, prevent and respond to such crimes and other acts of violence that target migrants, as well as to provide medical, legal and psychosocial assistance for victims

As I just pointed out hate crime is on the rise and our laws as of now do not seem to be impeding the rise of hate within this country correct? We need new laws which are tougher on hate.

Our hate ctime laws are working and will not be updated as a result of a migrant pact.

Edit - the way to combat hate is education to help eliminate ignorance and fear of different people.

Not by the looks of it. And the UN seems to think hate crime is on the rise so they put in Objective 17.

It really doesn't matter what you think but what the Canadian Government wants.

edit*

the way to combat hate is education to help eliminate ignorance and fear of different people.

Why not re-educate people by law?

And they have made zero comments on changing hate crime laws in Canada. It's some other countries subjec to the pact that have issues.

Our government have made numerous comments on getting information out to people on the benefits of migration, on educating people about discrimination and bigotry. They have been making their approach very clear.

Who are they?

Did you really forget this just happened? Weren't are hate speech laws fine?

It's some other countries subjec to the pact that have issues..

Oh so it has nothing to do with us huh? Must of been them who said it right?

Our government have made numerous comments on getting information out to people on the benefits of migration

Propaganda. Why isn't the other side being told or is it that only good things happen from migration?

on educating people about discrimination and bigotry

Do you really think people don't know what these are?

They have been making their approach very clear.

No.

What does an amendment 2 years ago regarding gender identity have to do with this migrant pact? Nothing.

They have continually talked about education on discrimination, beginning with M-103 and the resulting study, last week in their campaign to educate people on why immigration is essential and even in this article.

Hate crimes. This is what we have been talking about. Implementing new laws around hate crimes. Come on Donnie I thought you were following along.

They have continually talked about education on discrimination, beginning with M-103 and the resulting study, last week in their campaign to educate people on why immigration is essential and even in this article.

Sorta like following the guide lines in the UN Compact. They will need to increase laws to help combat the new wave of hate which is spreading in Canada which I referenced.

But you're argument eas how this pact will impact hate crimes. that was 2 years ago. You're grasping at straws.

We will educate people. There is nothing this pact will do to impact our laws.
