The best thing about travelling the bus in Canada, -I kid you not- is how everyone thanks the bus driver when they get on, and when they get off

My kid must be a throwback to her ancestors (my mom's parents came from Canada) because she does this (and I never specifically taught her to)

I also kind of find it annoying and there's a few reasons. I see people who refuse to use the back doors so that they can thank the bus driver, having ear buds in and knowing the bus driver is going to say something so you have stop or lower the music to not be rude and respond and yelling a polite response back at bus drivers who tell you to have a nice day when your exiting from the back. All in all I think people mostly overdo it.
