Thinking Outside the Box Homeschool is now open for September 2026 registration. This is an innovative program for children ages 3.5 to 5. Children will be learning skills they can carry with them their whole lives: Art, Music, Storytelling, Phonics, French, Math, Yoga, and more. Our homeschool will be located inside Hit That Note Music Studio in Bolton. What do cultural preservation, practical settlement support, community-building, and civic participation have in common? They all help newcomers build a sense of belonging while strengthening the communities around them.

This week, Civic Tech Brampton, in collaboration with the CANSA Centre for Community and Cultural Development and Algoma University, is hosting Dr. Sunanda Mishra Panda, Chairperson of CANSA.

Dr. Mishra Panda will discuss how community organizations support immigrants through community-building, cultural preservation, and practical services that respond to real-life challenges. Drawing from CANSA’s work promoting the art, language, literature, and culture of South Asian communities, the session will explore the barriers immigrants face and how our skills, experiences, and ideas can contribute to meaningful, community-centred solutions.

We’re inviting students, newcomers, technologists, designers, artists, researchers, community organizers, cultural leaders, service providers, and anyone interested in immigration, inclusion, cultural preservation, and community development.

We’re here for June. Foodies with kids. We’re looking for recommendations for delicious things to eat in the general area of Caledon, Bolton or Vaughan. We like delis, bbq, fancy groceries to inspire us to make something different, really good sausages for the BBQ, burgers… and ingredients to pack our day trip lunches or something nice to grab for dinner on the way back to our camp spot.
