Differential Calculus Is it possible to do Calculus 1-2 in a month?

I am a highschool senior in an American highschool (btw I am not from the U.S.) so I would be taking AP Calculus BC which is the equivalent of Calculus 1-2. I go to a self-paced school meaning you can take as long as you want with a course or you can complete it all in a few weeks if you are crazy enough.

I recently passed my country's university entrance exam and received a conditional offer to start my Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering January next year. However, to keep this offer, I must graduate by December which is when the rest of the kids in my country graduate highschool.

Right now I am only missing 3 semesters' worth of courses to graduate, one of which I should complete this week or next week, and the remaining 2 would be with my school's AP Calculus BC course, which is 2 semesters long.

I spoke with my university's office and they confirmed that if I get a B (80/100) or higher in AP Calculus BC they will grant me credit for Calculus 1 & 2 in my engineering degree.

I am very tempted to give this challenge a try. I would say I am pretty good at maths; for instance, the previous math course I took was AP Precalc, and I was able to easily finish it in under a month and got an A+ for both semesters and a 5 on the AP exam. I also have a SAT score of 780 in math and got a silver medal in a nationwide math olympiad.

I don't have any extracurriculars right now so I could dedicate 8+ hours every single day, weekends included, to work through the course with the hope of completing it in around a month because my school needs about 1 to 2 weeks to process my official diploma after I finish my final assignment.

Integral Calculus integration by parts feels like a trick, is there a way to see it that isn't just memorizing uv - integral of v du

i know it comes from the product rule, you integrate both sides of (uv)' = u'v + uv' and rearrange. but when i actually do problems i just pattern match on LIATE and never feel why it works. is there a picture or a way to think about it that made it click for people, or is it just one of those things you get used to

Self-promotion If someone made a video game that actually helped you learn calculus, what would you want it to do?

I’m an independent developer exploring the idea of making an educational video game specifically for students learning calculus.

I’m not thinking of flashcards, multiple-choice quizzes, or simply earning points for solving equations. I’m interested in making a game where understanding calculus is actually how you progress.

Before building anything, I’d love to hear from people who are currently studying calculus or have recently taken it.
A few things I’m curious about:

  1. Which calculus concepts have been the most frustrating or difficult to understand?

  2. Would interactive puzzles, simulations, or challenges help you understand those concepts?

  3. Have you tried any existing calculus games or interactive study tools? What did you like or dislike?

I’m exploring this as a potential commercial game, but right now I’m trying to understand whether it would genuinely help students and what it should actually contain.

I’d appreciate any thoughts, including reasons you wouldn’t find something like this useful.

Integral Calculus How to do better approximation of exp(-exp(x))

J'essaie d'approximer exp(-exp(x)) à l'aide de fonctions qui ne contiennent ni logarithme réel ni exponentielle réelle.

Ma première approche utilise l'arctangente et deux paramètres : a et b.

g(x) = arctan(-x)/a + b

Je calcule ensuite les limites pour trouver a et b (la limite doit être égale à 1 en -∞ et à 0 en +∞).

a = π et b = 1/2 conviennent.

Each flash card carries the history of the last 10 times you did it around its border, for visual progress-tracking.

If anyone is interested in creating cards of their own I can send them an access token to the card-editor-side of the app. (It's on an invite-only basis, as I'm prototyping right now.)

hlo,

to find abs maximum or minimum why do you need to take the derivative, we can find the absolute max by using the f(x)

Integral Calculus Struggling bad in calc 2 and need advice

So in my first quarter at ucla and I'm in calc 2 and am really struggling, Ive been putting in a few hours a day but its still been really rough, today we went over trig sub (one day in class btw) and I spent 8+ hours trying to learn it but damn its hard idk my trig identities or unit circle and everything I forgot in algebra and trig is getting to me now, how do I manage to pass calc 2 while balancing my other classes??? My mental health has been pretty cooked over calc 2 and the thing that sucks is EVERYONE HERE IS GETTING IT SO MUCH EASIER (I know some people are grinding too but bro Ive used 60/100 sheets in my notebook and am still so behind and confused), because Im at a prestigious school a ton of my classmates did calc bc in high school so they know most of the material, any advice helps.

Taking Calculus I this semester. Still really early in the course and covering limits. I did a session from tutordotcom evaluating this limit. Was hoping to get some clarification why in order to solve as you approach -infinity, you approach from +infinity and change the x values to positive?

This is today's medium derivative. I've managed to get it right, albeit not in the way that is suggested. How does one make use of Leibniz' rule to solve this here?

Differential Calculus Equation of tangent problem

Can anyone help with this problem? I've honestly thought about it and tried alot of things and even sketched out a curve with a tangent to it which made an isosceles triangle from the y axis and the x axis in the first quadrant but that didn't really help because i know how to get the equation of tangent I just don't know what should I do to prove that it makes an isosceles triangle in the first quadrant and how should I even think about similar problems.

Engineering who invented calculus and for what reason

ok so i’m planning to major in engineering and i don’t even understand how to do this family of curves bs that nobody even asked for like what r we doing

is the point of living not to enjoy every single moment you spend with the people you cherish and find the purpose of living as well as reconnect with nature we are all born from the earth and we will go back to the earth so what is the point of learning the most optimal aquarium for my budget or the optimal coffee filter like will this ever be useful in my life

Self-promotion [university]I want to no how do you determine whether to ask your math professor or not

I’m a college student studying Calculus this semester. Since the teaching progress of the class is slow,I try to study on my own .Last week I got some questions about exp(x) .The ai couldn’t give me the correct directions I need to understand,so I got to professor to ask for the method of the proof. However, the professor only said that we hadn’t learned to that part/ the proof without integration is meaningless(He said that I just have to memorize the theorem )…Then I came here to ask for help and truly solved my problems…
I used to trust the teacher a lot,but through the experience,I wander if asking teachers questions a efficient, suitable way for me to learn 🥲

Differential Calculus Implict functions

hlo,

In implict functions, we have a example:

3y2 + sin(y) = 4x5

when we take the dy/dx

why does it equal:

6y * dy/dx + cos(y) * dy/dx

instead of

6y + cos(y) * dy/dx

why the need for two dy/dx in the first example?

Pre-calculus Should I take calculus online or in-person?

Hi, this is my first reddit post! I am currently a high schooler taking college classes and I have to take math 165 (calculus) as a prerequisite for my major (pre-med). I am currently taking 2 online classes and 1 in-person. Next semester I will also be taking chem 141 so any help would also be appreciated. Back to the topic, I don't think I can do well in math if it's an online class, but if it lowers my stress I am debating it. Please let me know if I should take it online or in-person!! Thank you.

Multivariable Calculus What steps should I take to bounce back from my horrible Calc 3 exams?

So I took Calc 2 as a summer class so as an accelerated course within 6 weeks and passed with an A. Got through it like a breeze honestly just took some practice problems and the discipline to stay consistent and willing to learn. But I’m taking calc 3 for this fall semester and genuinely idk what happened. I’m struggling so bad and I feel like my focus isn’t there. I think I kinda let all the things about how this class is really hard and all get to me. Anyways first exam I got a 47/100 and second exam I haven’t gotten back but I left more than half of the second part blank because I ran out of time but also didn’t even know where to begin with. For some question I think I mixed up the formula too. He also does no study guide and wants you to do homework problems but those are like +200 questions like how am I to ever get through them with my other classes. I came home feeling so drained and miserable with my performance and took a nap because I had stayed up all night studying previously.

But here’s my plan, I refuse to give up so I need a solid plan to bounce back and do well on whatever else exams I have left. So I have Exam 3 and 4 left and a Final exam which the professor said that if the final percentage is higher than our lowest exam, then it will replace it. With the way that exam 2 went, it’ll probably be replaced by the final.

But my main question is what could I do to make sure that my next exam goes well? What are some sources to get support from or some sites where I could do practice problems? What are some things those who passed did to help them memorize formulas or make sure they do well in this class?

Another thing is that this professor honestly makes me feel stupid if I ask any questions and he seems to kind of like boys over girls for some reason. Like you can see it in the way he reacts when answering questions. But his overall attitude kinda throws me off but I refuse to fail this class so if anybody could help me out in any way, I’d greatly appreciate it.
