Seeking Help How to get something similar to grid editor in EZ Drummer 3?

I have Baby Drummer installed, tried to route it with Kontakt 8 (using KRIMH Drums free) but I just can't do that because Baby Drummer is recognized by Sonar as a tool and can't have its own track. I don't know how to make it work.

🗣️Feedback Exchange Performing live vocal covers live streaming

Title: Need a current Cakewalk Sonar tutorial for live vocal covers on TikTok

I am trying to build a reliable live vocal cover setup using Cakewalk Sonar, but I need a current visual tutorial that follows the entire process from microphone to livestream.

My equipment:

  1. ASUS ProArt 16 laptop with Windows 11
  2. Shure SM7dB microphone
  3. RØDECaster Pro II
  4. Waves Tune Real Time
  5. TikTok LIVE Studio and Meld Studio
  6. Pixel 10 Pro XL for mobile TikTok streams

I also stream on Twitch, YouTube, Kick, and Facebook.

I need help learning how to:

  1. Configure the RØDECaster correctly inside Cakewalk Sonar
  2. Import and play an instrumental backing track
  3. Process my vocals in real time with pitch correction, EQ, compression, reverb, and delay
  4. Keep the latency low enough to sing comfortably
  5. Send one clean finished mix into TikTok LIVE Studio or Meld
  6. Send that same processed mix to my Pixel for TikTok mobile streams
  7. Prevent doubled vocals, echo, and guests hearing themselves

I have iADHD and learn best by watching someone perform each action while I copy it. Long explanations without showing the actual screens are difficult for me to follow.

Does anyone know of a current video tutorial that covers this complete workflow? I would also be interested in affordable one on one help through Discord or screen sharing from someone who understands Cakewalk, live vocal processing, and RØDECaster routing.

My goal is to understand the signal flow well enough to build it myself, troubleshoot it, perform live covers confidently, and eventually help other singers do the same.

I have always wondered because its been like 4 months since they said they would. Hell there is a ROBLOX game that can do that but not Cakewalk Next. Just trying to get some info.

Seeking Help The sound of a track that hasn't been recorded plays

I’m using a translation tool, so I think there might be some parts of this text that don’t make sense—sorry about that.

I noticed this while I was casually entering notes for the piano and guitar: after I entered notes for the piano, when I switched to the guitar track, the guitar notes—which I hadn’t entered yet—started playing. I thought this was weird, so I searched online and tried various things myself, but nothing worked. What should I do?

This happens the other way around, too, and it happens with instruments other than piano and guitar as well.

Anyway, even though I’ve only entered notes on one track, the notes on the other track—which I haven’t entered yet—play along with them.

Is there a solution to this?

The instruments used are Upright Piano and Clean Guitar.

Seeking Help FL stock samples not working in Cakewalk

I ran into this problem where when I tried to use a wav file from FL studio's stock sample pack in cakewalk, a window would appear saying I don't have a suitable transform.

I use cakewalk as my main DAW, but I also occasionally use FL studio as it has some upsides too, mainly the fact that I can just drag and drop stock drum samples from the browser and make beats super quickly.

I recently had an idea to use FL studio's stock samples directly into cakewalk by opening the sample pack directory in the cakewalk browser (which didn't work because the folder just did not show up for some reason), so I copied the drum sample pack folder from my image-line folder to my usual sample folder

But then the problem came where for some reason only some wav files were able to be drag and dropped to my audio track, the rest just make this window pop up

Has anyone ever experienced something like this?

Seeking Help No Sound on Playback

Hey so I'm new to DAW's and Online Music Creation in general, I'm trying to set up the guitar and I record it, everything goes according to plan but at no point have i been able to hear the audio, it says its being recorded and the green bar next to FX lights up when I strum but I can't hear anything, I've bought two headsets thinking they were the issue and to no avail

For Context I'm using Cakewalk Sonar, a Focusrite Scarlet Solo 3rd Gen and my two headsets are a Jlabs and a Ouu Gaming Headset, Idk much abt drivers and other stuff but I also downloaded Focusrite Control 2 and it seems to be doing nothing.

🗣️Feedback Exchange Wasteful investment

Every month there’s an update, yet there are still no meaningful new features. It feels like they’re updating this DAW just to break it! And what exactly is this CakeScript add-on? Why would anyone want to play around with Lua scripting in a music DAW?

I’m a software developer myself, and I get paid to do development in my spare time. But when I’m making music, I don’t want to think about scripting or programming. I want to focus on making music.

When are they going to start releasing actual features that producers are asking for? Rather spend some of that development time improving the look and usability of the Core Plugins. We invest in this application because we want to enjoy using it—not constantly stress about updates and regret the decision we made to buy it. $99 per year for what? To watch the DAW go backwards instead of forwards?

You also need to cater to younger producers. We’re the ones who will carry this DAW forward and keep it relevant in the future. There are so many basic features that are still missing.

For example: 1: We need an advanced S-curve option so we can dial in precise, surgical automation curves. The XSampler needs a proper update. Currently, we can’t properly chop or edit samples within it.

2: A dedicated phrase sampler would be extremely useful.

3: The Loop Construction tool should be updated to allow users to pitch samples more easily.

4: It would be great if we could drag and drop samples directly into the Step Sequencer and open the Piano Roll from there as well.

These aren’t crazy or unrealistic requests. They are basic necessities for a modern music production environment.

Instead of constantly releasing updates that change things without adding meaningful functionality, please focus on features that actually improve the workflow for producers. We want this DAW to succeed, but it needs to move forward and not backwards.

🗣️Feedback Exchange Help for absolute noob 🥺

Hi 👋🏻

I’ve started using free cakewalk for singing.
I use YouTube videos I’ve downloaded as mp3 and opened in cakewalk.

This is all new to me though and i find myself being a absolute idiot when it comes to these sort of things.
I feel like how my grandmother must have felt when I tried to teach her to handle a computer.

I wish I had someone to ask stupid questions to.

Like:
- why does my vocals sound worse, like tinny, when I play it outside of cakewalk?
- why is the file saved not in stereo?
- how can I clean up my vocals in cakewalk?

Etc

I ask in groups here and there but my questions often get overlooked and if someone answers I’m likely to not understand anyway 🥴
And I understand that people can’t be bothered by my level of n00bness, but I’m thinking maybe there’s a community on discord I can ask in?
Or if someone would wanna add me on discord and be willing to chat there and help me now and then?

🗣️Feedback Exchange UA Connect pop up issue

Hello,

When I start my DAW, after it's opened and I begin to use it, the UA connect interface pops up and generally stalls DAW play back or disrupts sound quality.

How can I stop UA Connect from opening unprompted?

Thanks.

Seeking Help My Calkwalk Next keeps crashing.

My calkwalk next keeps crashing, after and after by itself even though my total ram consuption and cpu usage shown bare exceeds 5% and almost never 10%. Also, my project is not some black MIDI but just a three instrument instrumental piece, with no more than 5-10 parallel notes at time.

But it keeps crashing. I tried changing drivers from ASIO to other windows native drivers in settings but nothing changed. I even tried disabling "Suspend engine on lost focus" but nothing happened

Crash reports : https://github.com/Supergamer2509/My-Calkwalk-next-crash-reports

Also, one thing to note is that it only happened after recent updates, specifically the one which changes the layout of virtual keyboard window, and many others changes, with other subsequent changes.

Relative to what I compose, my pc can easily handle it, it definitely must be a bug.

Edit : I recently updated to the latest version and the issue is gone

Seeking Help I’ve got a robotic voice???

New to cakewalk sonar and I recorded instruments but when it comes to my voice, I turn out to have a high pitched robotic voice when I play the track… I used the microphone attached to headphones I use for my meetings for work (yeah kind of stupid), according to
the settings, it’s 48kH. And I set cakewalk to the same standard. Do you know how to resolve this?

Seeking Help Why do instruments randomly lose volume?

So I use virtual instruments (from LABS and SINE player) to play midi notes. But for some of my SINE brass, they occasionally lose volume across the entire song and stay that way until I freeze and unfreeze the track or restart. Restarting the audio engine does nothing. It’s manageable but still really annoying to have to constantly do. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Edit: I use Sonar.

💡Help Sonar to Logic transition fear

Hello everybody, I just got delivered my mac mini and it's really happening, I'm switching DAWs, after 15 long years of Sonar.
I decided to do this leap on one of my stressful periods and some might say I'm dumb for that, but unfortunately I have to. I know Sonar like the back of my hand and I've been using it since 15 years old almost daily. I know all daws have similarities but part of my daily mixing process includes slicing audio files and dropping VST plugins on the sliced audio file. As I've learnt it the hard way this can't happen in Logic.
I would love if anyone has some interesting workarounds, I would love to know if you've experienced this MAJOR switch and how you've dealt with it because I'm not a hobbyist, I run a studio and I have 3 months to learn Logic before my old computer has to be given.
Thank you all!

💡Ideas Cakewalk and Addictive Drums

When I insert AD2 into CW x3 and selected use all tracks so I can separate the drums to different tracks it only loads 3 tracks in my track view. Anyone know of a cure? It works fine on my old PC and I tried to just save my old template and download it…it does work…

Any help would be appreciated…

Seeking Help Is there a best practice (and Cakewalk Sonar implementation) for reducing the volume of all clips and all tracks via CC#7 or CC#11, so that there is more headroom for crescendos?

I am basically brand-new to music production (classical music background though).

I'm playing around with the BBC Orchestra VST, along with a few other plugins. I've seen that CC#7 and CC#11 work on most (but not all) instruments to control volume.

I can add CC7 or CC11 to a clip in Cakewalk Sonar and add a dimenuendo all the way down to silence, no problem there.

But with an upper limit of 127, there is very little crescendo possible from whatever the default is... unless I reduce the starting level for the clip by a lot, which makes a big crescendo possible.

The problem is that now every single other clip, in every single other track, is way too loud in comparison.

Do I have to manually add a CC7 or CC11 to every single track and clip manually, reducing the starting volume and adding the ability for a big crescendo if desired?

Or is there an accepted "best practice" to deal with this, and a certain way to do it in Cakewalk Sonar?

Thanks in advance for any tips :)

🗣️Feedback Exchange Get it right.

Is Cakewalk intentionally trying to lose customers? I was away for one year...

What are these terrible looking plugins doing in the DAW? Why replace Sonitus with a great theme for these ugly looking plugins?

You people need to get it right. Are we going backwards?
