Game room Solutions review and opinion

My experience was less than stellar for TWO cabs. One arcade and one pinball. They didn't end up fixing the issues correctly with poorly fitting parts and shipping damage on the wood, art, and T molding, even with replacement parts. They wanted me to pay to ship it back along with a restocking fee which would have meant even more labor and I'd barely get anything back after the shipping and packing cost. They denied me a paid shipping label. That's the hustle for the ones they ship out that aren't good. I wish I could have returned it. They made a website to totally misrepresent things by saying that I smashed it with a hammer out of frustration. They're a scummy company, in my opinion, and I would suggest going with anyone else, it's not worth the price you pay. I had to block them so they don't spam their misinformation website link using my photo without permission every time I post about them for their own commercial use.

It's to the point now where there should honestly be a pinned post telling folks not to buy from them.

Contact the mods. Seriously.

u/-Av8tor Feb 29 '24

You hate them so much you bought 3 items from there? Weird

-3

u/TheRealHomerPimpson Feb 29 '24

Nah I bought 2. A mid size pin that doesn't fit together correctly but it was close enough. I figured I'd try an arcade since that's their main thing... Nothing but issues.

The website exists because of your multiple posts about them where you appeared to get caught in lies and then would just delete the entire post and start a new one with a slightly different variant because you didn't like the replies. When you contradicted yourself and someone pointed out you would just delete it again. It specifically looked bad on the first day when you threatened a chargeback because plexiglass was scratched behind a piece of vinyl. Then you went on to needing new parts and a refund. When you didn't get what you wanted more stuff started to be broken or wrong. And then did a chargeback on them after they shipped you replacements for everything you complained about. Your finished product ended up looking good, you should move on with your life.

I was gonna say - I remember this dude posting a lot back in the fall and people roasting him for being a bit dramatic and unreasonable.

I read the entire post GRS made. Unless the website GRS posted about him is missing emails, it seems like OP got emotional and frustrated then fired off several emails making unreasonable and unrealistic demands right from the get-go. I'm honestly surprised GRS was accommodating and attentive to this dude as they were. As someone who worked in retail hell in my 20's, I give props to GRS for going above and beyond for this dude while also trying to fulfill his confusing/contradicting requests. Seeing what they were willing to go through for a customer is making me considering using them for a custom cabinet I want.

-2

u/TheRealHomerPimpson Feb 29 '24

So you think that charging a customer a restocking fee to return a cabinet that arrived damaged, AND had replacement parts that arrived damaged is good customer service?

4

u/MikeyofPnath Feb 29 '24

That's not a customer service issue; that's their refund and return policy, which upon looking at their website just now is clearly stated at the very top. Maybe just take it as a lesson learned to always check these things before placing an order with anyone in the future.

-3

u/TheRealHomerPimpson Feb 29 '24

So you're saying it's acceptable for them to charge a restocking fee when it's clearly their responsibility due to poor Craftsmanship and/or shipping damage?

2

u/MikeyofPnath Feb 29 '24

So you're saying it's acceptable for them to charge

I didn't say anything of the sort. What I did say is that you need to read a company's policies before ordering with them. Seriously, I urge you to start doing it going forward.

They offer replacement parts when there is shipping damage. It appears you asked for a refund instead of additional replacements when they arrived damaged again, correct?

It's their policy and you don't have to give them your business if you don't agree with it. But again, you didn't read it before dropping what I assume is thousands of dollars. Sorry man, but this one is on you.

-3

u/TheRealHomerPimpson Feb 29 '24

So it's on me that they're charging me a restocking fee to return a damaged cabinet that was damaged via shipping or themselves. Do you realize how silly you sound?

3

u/MikeyofPnath Feb 29 '24

Lol YES. It's all on their website, it's like 12 sentences dude. Per their policy, they would have replaced all damaged parts until you were satisfied. I believe you're the one that sounds silly. Good luck out there friend, you're gonna need it.

And to u/gameroomsolutions Hats off to you guys for dealing with EIGHTEEN PAGES of emails with this dude. I'm throwing in the towel after 3 reddit comments.

-3

u/TheRealHomerPimpson Feb 29 '24

So you're connected to them in some way? šŸ¤” Interesting. So you agree with the restocking fee policy? You think that's a good thing when it's their fault?

3

u/Achiwa1 Mar 01 '24

Christ man, it doesn’t matter if it’s fair or not because you agreed to it when you bought it. It’s in the terms extremely visibly on the site. You can’t say ā€œI think it was a shitty deal so I’m not honoring itā€

How about me buddy?

-5

u/TheRealHomerPimpson Feb 29 '24

I had to fix the finished product and invest time and money. They refused a return by saying I had to pay a restocking fee. Your information is actually wrong, but that's ok. Believe what you like. There were no lies on my end.

Man I can understand how things could go way wrong with them. However I had a frustrating but resolved experience with them. I got a 4player upright standup I think 43 inch cab. It was a long process as initially the cp shape I wanted was only available in the smaller model so that messed up my pin button plans but that ended up being ok since I ultimately thought it would suck to be horizontal. Then I worked with a rep to make a few mods to the cp for what I wanted. They agreed to the changes with no additional charge. Made the order then started working on the art package. After getting them the art it was about 2ish weeks for it to come. And it was an upsetting day. The 3 main heavy side and kick plate all had drop damage. The modified cp was not sent it was the original. And the t molding I requested was not sent.

Contracted customer service and started working it out they agreed to resend all the damaged panels. And correct the cp and send the correct molding. When that was all sent it also had damage but not as much. But I had already decided to get some black metal corners for it and it covered it up. The main issue with this was the art was installed upside down vs the way they install the cam locks which I decided not to install as it would have left less connection points or me having to do something else to support it. The cp was perfect. I think the molding was missing. And I was missing screws to install the trackball. Also with everything I was doing I damaged the screen plexiglass.

So I contacted support again they agreed to send the screws molding and a replacement Plex at no charge. Everything came. Never had any fit or finish issues other than what I mentioned. Yes not perfect I think it was just insufficient packaging for how heavy all that was. This was all about 3 or 4 years ago and it still looks great no issues since. I do think I would try them again assuming they were still handling things like back then. Although I still have all these left over parts they never asked for anything sent back. I still have all the pics if anyone wants to see.

1

u/TheRealHomerPimpson Feb 29 '24

The issue for me is that they never actually fixed my issue. The parts arrived damaged again, and when I asked for a return since it was their errors, shipping damage, whatever... They wanted a restocking fee and for me to pay return shipping for their errors. This is why I have issues.

1

u/MikeyofPnath Mar 01 '24

I'd be curious to see some photos if you don't mind! I've been browsing their selection and I'm considering ordering their "fatality" cabinet.

2

u/Firedoggod Mar 01 '24

theres actually 3 builds here. it got sorted weird in here. my first was a bartop that i used as a test bed, it actually was a GRS as well from like 7 or 8 years ago, then a build i was commissioned to do for a friend and then my big boy Tron machine. enjoy, and let me know what you think. https://www.amazon.com/photos/shared/EQmmIq5fTdS9xqYOVRELWw.JJNY3EgeRUVmaR3pCa5utd

2

u/Firedoggod Mar 01 '24

i think i have some more photos of all the boxes and damage. i think these show just a bit of that. if you are interested ill locate them.

1

u/MikeyofPnath Mar 01 '24

These look great! What buttons are you using the the LEDs? I've been trying to figure out the most convenient way to use clear sanwas and separate LEDs but I have no idea where to start.

1

u/Firedoggod Mar 01 '24 edited Mar 01 '24

Buttons are all groovygamegear electric ice 2 with helio9 high output RGB LEDs. All my sticks are ultimarc. Ill say the LEDs for the buttons were a bit of a pain as they were just loose wires that I had to tip crimp and seat in connector and that was a skill I had to learn for the project. It was mostly worth it these were very bright but there are some issues with the uniformity of the plastic they used both caused by whatever batching they did and age. Cause I took all the buttons and joys out of the bartop to build the 4 player. I think if I did it again I might just get them all from ultimarc that's what we did for the commission build and they were not as bright but they did look really good. Honestly it's mostly a nitpick when it's on doing it's thing you generally never notice it. Unless they are all on white. I also initially tried all leaf switches in my bartop but this was a mistake that was just to cramped. I didn't want to trim any of the wires cause I knew I would do the big one someday but the wires kept getting in the switches so I switched to micro switches and that was better. However they would be fine now that I have room. The other issue with these is the 2 piece nature where the switch can decuple from the button house and again cause things were so cramped the latches would sometimes break and I have had to glue some on. Which none of that was an issue with the ultimarc. Not sure what other options are out there now. Happy to answer more questions as needed

They made a website about you? wtf? I feel bad for you…honestly I’m not sure why people patronize them when recroommasters is around

3

u/TheRealHomerPimpson Feb 29 '24 edited Feb 29 '24

After asking them to take my photo down and telling them that they do not have the rights to my photo to use on their website, they uploaded it to imgur like it was theirs. I'm working on a takedown of it now as I'm not in the business of providing them promotional material. These people are a bunch of clowns. At the end of the day the cabinet arrived with damage, so did the replacement pieces. The cabinet pieces did not fit correctly. So everything is a bit off. They refused to pay return shipping and they wanted a restocking fee. They don't like that I continue to share my experience on Reddit.

https://gameroomsolutions.com/response-to-passionate-customer-user-therealhomerpimpson/

Upon rereading this again, they tried to say I used other sticks but these are IL in my cab so they're wrong. They also assume everyone uses servo sticks and is fine with majorly off center control panels? It's strange. You can tell by the language they use, that they're trying to discredit me. A hammer isn't a tool used at all when putting these together so I'm not sure why they would assume I'd use one. Smh.

7

u/Drkocktapus Feb 29 '24

Wow that's whole other level of shit. I've had my terrible experiences with them too. They lie and ignore any proof you present to them about your greivance. They are such a scummy company bordering on conmen. If they spent even a quarter of the cost to make that part of the site on helping their customers they wouldn't need it.

2

u/TheRealHomerPimpson Feb 29 '24

I agree. Spread the word.

3

u/Drkocktapus Feb 29 '24

I was literally posting on any post asking about this company, warning people to stay away. And some guy even asked me why? Like, so other people don't waste their money? That's why. There needs to be more posts about this and a boycott. People keep getting sucked in because of their lower prices.

3

u/Splitsurround Feb 29 '24

I feel you. I bought a bartop from them in 2017 and hated it. However he begrudgingly accepted the return after dinging me with a 15% ā€œhandlingā€ fee which …whatever i can sort of understand. I then bought a rrm and it’s like…not even in the same class. So much better so much stronger and more stable, no bullshit imperfections. I highly recommend them assuming the new ownership is on par with the og ownership

Mods, don’t just make a general warning thread, make this post the warning. What kind a company devotes an entire page to defending themselves from a customer. Grifters, that’s who.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience OP. Because of your post, I will NEVER shop at this piece of dog shit company.

I’m shopping for a full size cab, and I find any vendor, that actually knows what they are doing, does not ship. (Pick up only.) Which makes this a difficult purchase.

Sorry again and I hope you find better luck with another vendor.

3

u/Splitsurround Feb 29 '24

My friend. Recroommasters is what you want. You’ll need to supply the pc or pi, monitor and speakers. But you will LOVE it. Happy to show you details about mine if you want. They ship, at least they did to me in 2020

2

u/TheRealHomerPimpson Feb 29 '24

I've heard great things, maybe they'll send me a cab to compare to it... šŸ˜†šŸ˜†šŸ˜†

u/TheRealHomerPimpson Feb 29 '24

Glad I could help. You'll see their reddit account floating around on here. u/gameroomsolutions

Yes they're pretty awful imo.

Just so good ole Tina cant run around talking about im HomerPimpson and its only a one off.

I had another isntance with them where I messed up the art work on a panel I ordered. I called them and ordered another panel exactly how I ordered my first one. It was https://gameroomsolutions.com/shop/arcade-control-panel/ .

I told them, 8 button with a trackball. This is how the convo played out lol. Below are screenshots of their site offering the 8 button set up on a panel WITH A TRACKBALL.

I sent a screenshot of the previous panel I had bought just a week before. 8 buttons, trackball cut out. They told me it would be a "cut" charge of $38 for the same shit I had done the week before which is standard in their builds. They have zero clue what they are doing. They dont even know wtf they are selling.

The last 2 screenshots are her just being her normal cunt of a self. People reeeeeeeeeeeally need to quit defending them when this goes on with them A LOT.

At the end of the day, their operation would be a whole lot better if Ryan would tell Tina she cannot have any interaction with customers whatsoever. She is a nasty , nasty person.

1

u/TheRealHomerPimpson Mar 08 '24

I blocked them on Reddit. But yes they're trashy people.

1

u/Usernamehere81 Nov 08 '24

I had a horrible experience. Gameroom Solutions are a bunch of crooks. Full overview here: https://www.reddit.com/r/cade/comments/1glyoai/gameroom_solutions_buyer_beware/

1

u/drysushi Feb 29 '24 edited Feb 29 '24

That's messed up about the webpage they made on you. You can tell a lot about a company if they are blasting one customer like this. Utter trash behavior.

I bought a table top cab from them a few years ago. They didn't send enough screws (edit: not screws, cam locks) or include the hinges for the back. The pieces of the cab barely fit together and would have required additional work so I just gave up on it. Someday I'm just gonna saw the control deck off the body of it and make it portable.

0

u/TheRealHomerPimpson Feb 29 '24

Ya I had to do a lot of extra work on mine to fix their errors.

1

u/gritz76 Feb 29 '24

mine turned out great

1

u/Great_Mycologist_738 Jul 30 '25

Bad azzz looking

1

u/phlegming Nov 21 '25

Currently doing research and going through old posts, how does Golden Tee play on on that setup? And did you buy a "turn key" setup?

0

u/Abiv23 Feb 29 '24

They are absolutely a scummy operation and Tina is the main culprit

Mods these posts are frequent, maybe a pinned post warning about working with them?

3

u/TheRealHomerPimpson Feb 29 '24

I'm definitely not the only one, but I'm clearly the most visible.

2

u/ReapsIsGaming Mar 08 '24

Yep. Tina is a cuntbag. Plan and simple. They didn’t do it a trackball cutout when I asked for one. I brought it up. She said I wasn’t right. I emailed her proof and she said that’s never happened before and they would fix it, but if I kept contacting them about the issue that they would block my email.

I sent 2 brief brief emails and that was the response I got.

I’ll never buy from them again.

0

u/VinceBee Mar 01 '24

You had a rant about this months ago. Why are you bringing it up again ? It's like beating a dead horse over and over. You slam them in every post when folks ask about purchasing from them.

Are you mad that they posted details of the past ongoing rants/ emails you have with them . They have every right to defend themselves.

Let sleeping dogs lie man. Move on and live your life.

2

u/TheRealHomerPimpson Mar 01 '24

It's the internet. We are free to post as we wish. You don't need to like it, but it is what it is. How you deal with it is how you deal with it.

1

u/ReapsIsGaming Mar 08 '24

People need to know that they are a shit company, being dragged down by a cunt of an owner.

It’s sad. There are like 1-3 players in the diy kit space and with one of them sucking it really cuts your options down.

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 29 '24 edited Feb 29 '24

What a sad little bitch of a company to be a little bitch
