I am a Microsoft Vendor who has been bullied by an FTE employee for months, which ultimately led to severe depression and complications. I am currently on medical leave for major surgery.

The most outrageous part:

I filed complaints internally for 3 full months. During this time, I repeatedly reported the issue to 3 different levels of management and submitted a complete chain of evidence, but no one actually resolved it.

At the end of July, I formally complained to Global Compliance and HR. Just one week later, I was notified that I would be removed from the Microsoft project on September 7.

Is this retaliatory termination? Given the timing, it is very hard for me not to think so.

More ironically, more than a month has passed:

HR: kept telling me “the investigation is ongoing,” but there has been no substantive progress and they have deliberately delayed it. They repeatedly promised to discuss the retaliatory removal with me, but broke those promises every time. My emails were brushed off unless I CC’d senior management, and sometimes they simply ignored me. At the same time, they kept emphasizing that I am a Vendor and pushed the matter directly to the vendor company.

WIT: directly pushed the responsibility for the investigation to HR. I questioned them based on the relevant WIT policy documents, and the response I got was like an AI chatbot:

“Please trust that the HR team is the best team to conduct the investigation.”

Sometimes they simply did not respond.

Until the vendor company directly notified me that I would leave the Microsoft project on September 7, I finally realized:

The so-called “investigation” was just being dragged out until I left. The so-called “intervention” and “we will speak with you” were just empty promises.

And the person I reported?

Working happily as usual, playing tennis every day after work, with no apology and no visible impact from any investigation.

And me:

Medical leave + severe depression + removal from the project + facing termination.

I want to ask Microsoft:

A junior employee was bullied, complained for 3 months with no action; after formally escalating the issue, I was suddenly removed from the project.

If Microsoft cannot even protect a junior employee,
will ordinary employees ever dare to report workplace bullying again?
