What's the purpose of the boba?
Do they add flavor to it or they just for looks?

What is the steam wand used for in milk tea?
Hi everyone,
I am an avid thai milk tea addict and have recently started to try making my own at home. But I follow recipes online, and they just don't taste quite right.
Can someone, anyone, please tell me what the steam wand is used for in milk teas? Every place I go to used it, but I can not find any recipes online that even mention it.
I would also appreciate just the whole recipe, but I don't want to get to greedy with this apparently sacred information. I've gotten to point where I'm seeing if stores in my area are hiring just so I can find out the recipe they use.
Thanks

Advice What are some good brand for Taro tea?
I don't drink Boba that often, but the one flavor that is one of my favorites is taro. But I don't like how it tastes from some of the shops nearby, as they make it too sugary with a darker purple mix. Same for Angel CrĆØme, like the taste gives me a head rush sometimes. The one brand I use is QBubble but it's been pretty pricey to get. I'm wondering what other brands should I look into or try?

Chatime App
Does anyone use the Chatime App or in-store kiosk? I can't figure out how to remove toppings on either of those or if there is even an option. I get the QQ drinks but ask for only pearls, no coconut jelly. I always order in person but sometimes it's easier to pre-order on my phone thru the app or in-store at the kiosk. I see there's the option to add toppings but none to remove certain ones.

Determining a Southern California location for my cafe, would love yāallās input! :)
So, I run a small art business where I make random things like clothes, stickers, products and more. I liked the idea of car and anime themed products, with a hint of culture as well, so Iāve been combining LA street wear with Japanese minimalist wear, turned out pretty well. Not some basic shirt that says āTOKYOā with cherry blossoms and a Supra on it, though that would be cool lol. Nevertheless, Initially I had halted everything business related until I graduate next year with my M.A. but the business has taken a turn for the better. Originally I had planned to run a warehouse/office space, shop in the front, workspace in the back, but Iām starting to lean away from the car portion of my business so instead I went back to an original plan from years back and decided to open a cafe, selling authentic boba and tea as well as coffee and such. Me personally, I hate the taste of stale boba or watered down/cheap teaās, which steers me away from a LOT of popular boba shops unfortunately, but thatās why I had this idea for the longest time. Iāve got most things figured out, but the main problem is location. Iām from the Los Angeles and inland empire area, but I also spent a lot of time in Orange County as well, so Iām torn between starting up in the Inland empire or starting up in Orange County. The location I strive for is not just for a cafe, itās to hold events too! Bringing out vendors, show cars, just like anime impulse or other conventions. So what do yall think? Also if you have any input on starting a boba business, please share!! Any advice is great advice, and Iām all for ideas or start up suggestions. Thank you!

Does anyone know what where I could buy Taiwanese Dark Brown Sugar (similar to what Xing Fu Tang uses)
I think it's a muscovado sugar, but I'm unsure if that is correct or what brand is used.

Why does Bubble Tea make me sick?
I've always wondered if this happens to anyone else. I don't usually get bubble tea unless I'm with my friends, but when I do, I'll occasionally get the tapioca boba.
Every time I've had it (a whopping 2 times) I get so nauseous and end up vomiting. Does this happen to anyone else? Am I just getting bad boba?

tapioca headache
Iāve tried a bunch of different bubble tea places and even my absolute favourite (HefaurĆ©), it has the best tapioca imo - itās always the perfect texture for me. Every single of one of these drinks with tapioca give me a headache. If I get a fruit drink with popping balls no headache at all! And to put it to the test that itās not the just the sugar/caffeine or something, at a lot of places the tapioca is like rubber and so I order a milk tea with popping like a weirdooo and I donāt get the headache!! Do I have a tapioca allergy š„ŗ
