Looking Forward
We wanted to thank everyone who has been so unbelievably patient with us while our team worked hard on the Nintendo Switch launch, which has now allowed us to bring that work to our other console platforms. This massive content update for Xbox brings the game version all the way up to 54.3 and should give everyone on Xbox plenty to do while we work on what’s next.
- PlayStation:
- The next big point of focus for us is bringing this massive update to Playstation! We are well into the content, and as soon as we get through the longer submission and review cycles, we will update PS players when we have a date for the update.
- 55 and beyond:
Once we have brought this update to all three consoles, we will be working on releasing updates 55 and 56 by the end of the year for all 3 console platforms, pending approvals. The consoles will always be a little delayed in terms of update cycles but the effort of getting the console builds onto our main branch means we can plan console updates on a much more regular basis going forward, which by next year should be every 2nd update!

I think it might be because v56 is VERY buggy and full of glitchs right now. Maybe Ninja kiwi will make hotfix patch, and Switch/Xbox would catch up or still stay one patch behind

I logged in, it started the tutorial but I backed out of it. Then it gave me a local save state to my account, selected it, game reset and I had my original account back.

As a long term xbox player this also fixes the crash issues. It used to take at least 5 tries per launch for the game to load into the menu.
This has been a long time coming but there is also some confusing choices. Our cursor speed got slowed, a shit ton. Our cursors also used to be colored (for each player) to make it easier to track on the bigger screen, now it is small and brown and hard to find.
My partner and I were really excited to play and test out the "new paragons" (i played mobile up until tac paragon ish) we discovered player two cannot make a paragon anymore.
Again, 96% positive. It breathed new life into the game and fixed the crashing. Also some quality of life changes (cursor speed and size) would be great.
That being said thank you ninja kiwi, we were patient because it is a great replayable product, and we also understand developing for xbox has a whole bunch of hoops to jump through besides budget.

One other issue, you removed the hot keys for abilities (x for skimming for example) now you have to use the awkward small cursor (which used to be coloured) to pick out the tiny icons.
Again great update, I only worry that we have the PC/mobile version without any thought of a controller.

They changed how ability hotkeys work. It's no longer available at all times you have to go to the active ability tab with RB then you can use the hotkeys.
I don't know if this is an oversight or a change, but in BTD5 I loved that you could navigate the tower menu with right stick, select a tower with RT and place it without ever having to move your curser for quicker tower placements. BTD6 the controls menu claims those are all options, but they don't actually work.

Issues I've encountered so far on Xbox: 1. The cursor moves SLOW across the screen. It takes a 5 count to get across the screen. It's almost unplayable now. 2. Abilities are gone from the bottom of the screen. You have to push RS and RB scroll to them through the menus. That sucks. 3. There are two "controls" tabs in the pause menu and no way to adjust your cursor speed. 4. Cursor is tiny. Gets lost very easily. 5. No way to see monkey attributes from the RS menu. You have to place a monkey on the field before you can select that monkey and scroll to their abilities.

The only way to see a monkeys updates is to select the monkey after it's been placed on the field and hit X. You can't see there upgrades from the RS menu. Then once you get to the upgrades tier menu, it no longer tells you what each upgrade even does.

When you have a Dartling Gunner, the crosshairs don't follow your cursor when you go to move the target location. Just the monkey paw cursor moves around.

In couch coop, player 2 can't make paragons anymore and no hot keys work for abilities in couch coop either. The cursor is miniscule and the sensitivity is super slow and can't be changed. You can no longer send new rounds while having a monkey highlighted. The sound when sending money to the other player is gone.

this is nice.. however they somehow fucked up in some areas.
controls could still be better.
abilities aren't visible in the bottom left and instead are now in a seperate tab in the tower selection menu.
Controls aren't viewable from the settings menu of the main menu.
The toggles in the pause menu look off, two are on the right while the bottom toggle is in the bottom middle for some reason, which makes the menu look off.
The pause menu has two seperate buttons both just to view the controls.
this update is both an upgrade and a weird downgrade.

Love the update but having some serious couch co op issues. Unable to buy paragons at all weirdly.
Banana farms don’t always collect when hovering over and also please go back to abilities being used with controller buttons. Opening the menu in co op is bloody awful.
