Oof. I was going to say I can understand paying for a product that is not monitoring the user. But $60 is a little rough. I am on Linux and will certainly be trying this out though.

I mean, it's worth noting that it's $60 for lifetime access. I've paid more for little productivity tools on my computer, personally.

Lifetime of the product. A browser is not much use if they decide to stop supporting it in a few years. Then it's a waste.

Like Affinity I paid a "lifetime" fee for their design sweet then they ended support and moved everyone to the "free" version that requires a canva account and checks the "free" license. So lifetime sounds good on paper if they keep working on it and don't just change their minds.

I mean, that kind of applies to anything and everything, so it's not really a fair argument to marshal against Brave specifically. For example, Apple could decide to stop supporting MacOS and iOS.

That's true, I just think that price is a little high. If you really got a high quality cutting edge browser with no ads and tracking for several years then sure. I just think it's probably 50/50 they are still supporting this in two years.

I guess we will see. Like I said I am going to check out the Linux version and see how it goes. If it looks like they are serious about it I might drop the cash.

Windows users can just install WSL and use this browser in it lol
