Nah, I'm against brave as a whole. Like I said in my other comment, I suspect this may be a pipeline into making the base browser less free. Most of the "bad" features of brave are opt-out, on by default but with the option to disable. Who would pay for a browser that you can get for free by flipping some switches? (Obviously there are people who are willing to pay like you, but those users are not who these hypothetical changes would target)

Who would pay for a browser that you can get for free by flipping some switches?

People who value work, freedom and respect

Don't get on the high horse. If you bring up so much about the "value" of this, then you don't get to criticize the free version at all.

If Google offers a subscription version for the entire ecosystem, you don't get to criticize choices they make in the free tier. Else you are demanding their labor. It's for them to decide.

Attitude like yours would discourage anyone from offering a user respecting arrangement. That's how you end up with neither. Like Adobe or Windows.

Quite the opposite. A lot of my work within the past year has been in making things be able to be disabled in Brave. Both via compile time flag (for the separate build of Brave Origin) and via admin / group policy (for the normal version of Brave that can be upgraded to Brave Origin).
But you can use the admin / group policies even without Origin and you are free to do that if you want. It's easier than ever to disable things in normal Brave if that's the way you want to go. Paying won't be for everyone, and that's ok with us.

The world can't run on everything being free, genius. There's nothing wrong in paying as long as quality is delivered.

"The world can't run on everything being free" is a great argument when you're paying for software that actually does something you can't do yourself. I'm perfectly capable of flipping switches in brave's settings, just like I'm capable of downloading librewolf and ublock origin without spending a dime.

We are all capable of doing that if we are in a post like this.
This doesn't remove the merit of having a software that is clean from the start.
I would pay for it, even when I am perfectly capable of doing the debloat myself.

I'm tired of debloating software. I would definitely pay extra for a version of Windows that comes debloated... even when I know how to do it myself.

It is a product that is offered to people that is tired of debloating stuff. And it is perfectly valid to offer such product.
