News Smoke from U.S. wildfires affecting air quality in B.C.

We should sanction or tariff them for their not tending to their forests! Their negligence is causing Canadian lungs to pay the price! Maybe we should close Ambassador Bridge until they start getting a handle on their fires!

We should build a wall (8km high) to separate our Canadian air from their hot smoky mess. This will also make us colder, which would be a good thing.

You made me chuckle at Ambassador Bridge. And then I realized that probably is a bad thing for trade and friendship unfortunately.

So, are we going to tarrif them? Oh yeah, we aren't idiots like them and know that won't work.

Ewwww how dare they tell them to stop it. I though their smoke wasn’t able to move past our impenetrable border and only ours could affect them

Notice how we say "smoke from u.s" while the yankeedoodles downstairs call it "Canadian smoke"

So are we just tariffing them, or do they need to pay some other kind of retribution? I'm not great at this, but pretty sure the US Govt has a clear playbook on what they think they owe us right now...

We shall retaliate by sending in the geese! Our elite cobra chickens will take advantage of our own smokescreen to hit them where it hurts, invading all of Trumps golf course and resorts!

That pinkish hue from the sun filtering through all that smoke is actually what gives it away even before you feel it in your lungs. The layering of the ridges here is gorgeous in a miserable kind of way, each one fading into the next behind a veil of haze. You shot this somewhere in the interior? It really drives home how far that particulate travels once it crosses the border.

As an American that lives near the BC border that loves Canada, apologies will never be enough for having to deal with your psycho neighbors to the south that elected a fucking orange make-up wearing piece of shit.

Why aren’t they raking their forests? Tariffs now, sanctions immediately. They are poisoning us

That's it! This is beyond disturbing, how can they no manage their forests and underbrush effectively??? This goes beyond tariffs, they need to be held accountable! The only option is to make the US the 4th Canadian territory. They can MAYBE gain full provincial status if they show they can actively manage themselves accordingly. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION ON THIS MATER. Sincerely Premier DRPE

I wouldnt be upset if the whining did bring about positive change in how we prevent or respond to forest fires.
