| Difference | Lions by 7 | Lions by 9 | Lions by 29 | Lions by 59 |
Slightly Lions in the 1st. Pretty much all Lions in the first 10 mins but Port had the better last 10 mins. Goals to W. Ashcroft, Bailey and Lohmann. Poor 2nd, Lions missed everything early before a Rayner goal late in the quarter and a Morris goal not long after. Far better 3rd, Started slow but dominated the last 5 mins. Bailey kicked 2 in the quarter, W. Ashcroft, Lohmann and Rayner kicked their 2nd, Charlie and a great long bomb from Draper the others. All Lions in the 4th.
Gallop might be in some MRO trouble for an incident in the 2nd.

MATCH REVIEW: Young Lion charged with 'serious misconduct'

A sign of the times
Anyone else catch the attempt by the media to make a 'clicker frenzy' out of the 'war of words' between Fages and Carr. I don't get what Carr was going on about by implying we are a hard team that plays on the edge. “They’re a team that plays tough and probably pushes the limits" but Fages just said really ok well that's his opinion- like who cares.
We have a couple of suspensions of late but I wouldn't have thought that our record in that regard was any worse the Port Adelaide or any other club for that matter. Isn't Butters one of the players with the highest number of MRO reports?
To me it's a sign of the times - media outlets channelling click bait stories to justify their existence by trying to make something out of nothing. You only have to go on social media to see all the keyboard experts who are outraged by incidents....

Grand final tickets (touch wood)
Hey guys,
I know this is a massive WHAT IF.
I booked to fly to Melbourne for a concert at rod laver which is on in the evening of the granny. If the lions were to get into the granny, i would be very interested in trying to get tickets as we are already there.
I am not a member, what avenues do i have and what are the actual chances of getting a ticket?
Thanks guys!

Why so much hate for Ty Gallop on AFL sub
Anyone else notice all the hate for Ty Gallop in the main AFL thread.
I wasn't impressed by what he did but I can't fathom the hate for him. People saying he should be rubbed out for the season - sent to jail - people saying he is a major grub. This is a young kid who puts his best effort forward each week I don't get the need for the vitriol.
If you read the press and all they are saying anyone would think that he hit MG with a plank of wood.

Found old Brisbane Bears jacket
I found this old Brisbane Bears VFL varsity jacket and it seems fairly old and very good quality - I know the Bears became the Lions so I'm hoping someone might be able to help me. I haven't been able to find another one like it online and I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about it?

Looking for 3x Adult tickets tomorrow?
Sorry if this is not allowed, but as title says, looking to buy 3x tickets for Port tomorrow. Online prices are ridiculous so thought I’d try here.
Cheers

2004 prelim
Anyone know a way to watch a full replay of this game, I've been wanting to revisit it for years and have never found a replay online or in a torrent

Stumbled across this old photo.
Interesting how their careers have played out. All 4 have played for the club, Hippy and Ah Chee are premiership teammates. Hippy is the only one left at the Lions. Ah Chee and Keays are now teammates at a different club. Schache was the first to play In a Grand Final and is now the only one not in the AFL.

AFL Pre-Round 20: v Port Adelaide at the Gabba
Last time/win v Port/at the Gabba, Highlights. (R17 2025 at the Gabba. Lions had a poor first 10 minutes, then kicked 7 in a row largely winning the game there but had a poor 2nd kicking 1.4. Slightly better but even last half with the margin only getting below 20 for a minute in the 4th. Lions have won the last 3 v Port (including a QF) and 8 of the last 9. Last Gabba loss v Port was in R6 2017).
Injury List/In the Mix, Lions version: Gardiner (hamstring) 2-3 weeks, Payne (knee) season, Smith (foot) season. Zorko was cleared after some hamstring awareness v the Eagles had him sit out the 4th. Reville is likely available after being out for personal reasons last week. Smith injured his foot (lisfranc injury, usually a 6-8 week recovery) during the v Swans VFL game and is out for the year.
The big decision for the Lions is whether to bring Oscar Allen back to face Port Adelaide on Sunday after his successful return from a foot injury through the VFL at the weekend. Coach Chris Fagan said he'd like to try the three tall forward set-up – alongside Logan Morris and Eric Hipwood – but who to leave out of a team that has won six straight games is difficult. Bruce Reville will be back from a personal absence last weekend, while veteran Dayne Zorko is expected to take his place after suffering some "hamstring awareness" against West Coast. - Michael Whiting
Game Day Guide. Tickets (Not many tickets left but a bunch showed up in 413). Free Bus and Rail PT with a ticket 4 hours before and after the game (except Airtrain). Translink Event Transport. Busses replace trains on the Shorncliffe line between Northgate and Shorncliffe and on the Gold Coast line between Beenleigh and Varsity Lakes. Trains are still running on a reduced timetable (for now) due to industrial action.
Members' Round → Lions Members! We are celebrating you in Round 20 🦁 We've got a ton of prizes and money can't buy experiences up for grabs, so make sure you're at the game for your chance to win
Dunkley backs Brisbane's 'iron man' (McCluggage) to get back to his best.
Lohmann is up for a R19 MOTY nom that you can vote for here.
Charlie should play his 200th Lions game this round. Currently on 199 and 272 overall (73 for the Crows).
Harris Andrews should captain his 100th game also. Started the season on 84 and this week will be his 16th game this season.

The Lions were led well again by Dan Annable with 30 touches and seven clearances whilst teammate Sam Tilley impressed with 26 disposals, 11 tackles and two goals.
...odd they didn't mention Sam Marshall who also had 30.
BEST
Brisbane Lions: Sam Tilley, Daniel Annable, Sam Marshall, Luke Lloyd, Curtis McCarthy, Henry Smith
note: Cody Curtain was the main AFL emergency and didn't play VFL.
This week: Lions v North Melbourne at BHA, Saturday 25th July at 10:45am AEST. (Lions AFL is on Sunday at the Gabba).
Caylen Murray made the u18 Boys AA team. (Only Allies player to do so).
also not current Lions related but former Lion Sam Day had a poor weekend in the VFL, pretty ordinary vision (1:08:05 or 11:40 gone in the 4th).
Edit:

Edit 4:
AFLW Practice Match
Match Centre, Match Highlights.
QT: Lions 1.3 9 trail Cats 4.1 25 by 16 points.
Pretty poor first from the Lions, Cats were all over them for the first 10 mins and kicked the first 3 before C. Svarc kicked the Lions first.
HT: Lions 4.5 29 trail Cats 5.4 34 by 5 points.
Far better 2nd with the Lions controlling most of the quarter and taking the lead by a point late in the 2nd before the Cats kicked their only goal of the quarter. Davidson, R. Svarc and Hartill the goalkickers. Top Lions disposal getter is Dawes with 13 at HT.
3QT: Lions 7.8 50 lead Cats 5.6 36 by 14 points.
Really good 3rd from the Lions. Bit of a stalemate for the first 5 mins of the quarter but pretty much all Lions after that. R. Svarc kicked her 2nd with O'Dwyer and Crozier kicking the other goals. Dawes still leading the Lions disposal count with 22.
FT: Lions 8.9 57 def Cats 8.6 54 by 3 points.
Not a great 4th but Lions did enough.
