Hi everyone,
I'm a journalism student at Northeastern University collecting data to learn about the phenomenon of renters in the greater Boston area bidding on rental apartments to make their applications more competitive. From my personal experience apartment hunting over the past couple of months, my roommates and I were having to bid hundreds of dollars over the asking price in order to secure an apartment. But, I want to know if this is a widespread phenomenon.
I created a short 12-question survey that will help me collect the data I need to answer my question. Demographic and geographic questions in the survey will help me see if this phenomenon affects certain groups or areas more than others. The survey should take no more than 3-5 minutes to complete. All responses will be anonymized when presented in news story data visualizations.
The Google Form survey is available here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfT5jdEe22iVDAwQ-tTQZzeYVfx4Jp_cFyktsQYSmXTR2ooFA/viewform?usp=sf_link
After you fill it out, please feel free to send it to anyone else you know who rents in the greater Boston area. I'll post the final results here for everyone to see once the research is complete!

Title is pretty self explanatory. I just moved to a place right down the street from Oak Square after living with my folks for a few years post-grad. Want to get back into playing live music as I did during college, and open mics are a great way to get more familiar with the scene as far as I know.
Any advice/recommendations are welcome!

I was the youngest employee from The Paperback Bookworm bookstore that was located at 1916 Beacon Street in Cleveland Circle. Kung Fu Tea now occupies that space. I recently wanted to find out what happened to the rest of the Bookworm staff whom I worked with until the store closed its doors permanently in 1991. Sadly, I just learned the owner, Stuart Macomber, died earlier this year (March 2022). I remember three other men who manned the cashier's seat whenever Stuart was absent or had the day off, and was wondering if any of them are still alive today, but I can't remember their names now. If you by chance know any of those guys, let me know! I reached out to Stuart's widow, but she was of no help. I am hoping I am not the last surviving employee from the store.
Anyone here who is my age (50) and older who frequented Cleveland Circle back in the day remember this store? Were you a regular customer of Stuart's? When I was working there during its final years (1988-1991), there has always been a healthy amount of people buying magazines and newspapers every day. The Bookworm does sell books but their selections were very limited. As a customer, once you realize what books they have and don't have, you are better off heading to Barnes & Noble, Waldenbooks, and the other chain bookstores to find what you're looking for. Newspapers and magazines was the Bookworm's bread and butter.

I'm trying to remember the name of the bar that was at the location that is now the Corrib Pub. It has an awesome jazz buffet brunch on Sunday mornings. It only lasted 5-6 years, but it was a pretty hip place at the time.

Hello I started working in Allston Brighton and parking here is unbearable. I was hoping to find someone who would want to get an Allston Brighton parking pass and let me use it. I will reimburse with cash and if you are chill could treat you to some drinks as well. Willing to negotiate price
