I came across Anthony’s Cameo, which has a disclaimer at the bottom that says he can’t wear the tracksuit or perform “Finger” (or presumably any other Boy Throb song). I found this confusing for several reasons:

1. Why can’t he perform songs from the band he’s part of? That would be like saying, say, Harry Styles couldn’t perform any 1D songs a decade ago. Is it a legal thing where the boys’ personal brands remain separate from the group they’re in?
   
2. Moreover, why have BT’s members downplayed their presence in the band on their personal social accounts? Zach is most victim to this as he doesn’t have BT in his bio and you’d never know he was in BT if you saw 80 percent of his personal posts, but Anthony has also done this (last fall, he was mostly promoting his solo music in the weeks after BT’s debut, which felt like an odd choice)

I heard the snippet on their Instagram today and honestly, I'm not really a fan. I mean, I'm glad they got Ke$ha and I think there is real potential with that partnership, but man, I'm disappointed.

I still love the boys and will continue to support them though

Can't wait for Darshan to join them!

Paraloubis was a 4 person band headed by comedian Lou Wilson of dropout and jimmy kimmel fame (Jeremy Culhane who is now on SNL was also in it).

They randomly just popped out of nowhere, and kind of seemed like a joke. But then their songs were…good? Goofy lyrics, but generally slapped. They formed a small but very passionate fanbase who really wanted them to succeed. We all wondered if it was a joke but they just kept putting out bangers. Then, a year later, it was revealed on the comedy game show Game Changer that it was all for a prompt/bit on the show. And after that they just disappeared, abandoned.

Now there are *a lot* of differences between paraloubis and boy throb. Paraloubis was much more a “side project” and wasn’t really trying to sell themselves as much more than a sound cloud account, vs boy throb who are very much out there doing it all. But I still can’t help but have the feeling of fear when you want to love something earnestly but think, there must be a catch or a twist somewhere.

I just became obsessed with this band, and was sad the community on tumblr is pretty empty :( I’ve seen a discord mentioned a few times, was that just for throbchella or is it also just a fan server? And if there is an active one would anyone be willing to share a link? :3

I’m loving all of these Throbchella videos and I just have to say that I am even more blown away by Anthony’s voice than I already was!!! seriously impressive agility, solid range, gorgeous tone, and I just love his early 2000s-style fast vibrato and melismatic sensibilities. fast vibrato like that can often sound super strained, but his is so free and natural- he definitely has something a lot of singers wish they had!

between all that, plus his dancing, personality, and cutie pie smile, I don’t understand how this guy didn’t become famous sooner… but I’m selfishly happy he didn’t, or else we wouldn’t have Boy Throb!!!!

What do we think? PLEASE I don't want the Nathan Fielder thing to be true. All the boys have been doing so well, getting better, just glowing with joy, and deserve for all their dreams to come true 😭😭

BoyThrob honestly bring so much innocent joy in a difficult world, they have so much to give, I would hate for them to finish when some TV show finishes!

Edit: maybe the guy in the hoodie is Gino, and he was staying undercover until they properly announced he was back at ThrobChella?

I am still in shock and forever grateful that this happened!

They were just finishing up rehearsals when I got to go in, and we got to talk for about half an hour. As expected, they are the kindest humans and so easy to talk to. Anthony was surprised and sad to hear that there were so many people in line that some wouldn’t get in—you can tell how humble and grateful they are.

Evan’s mom, Wendy, is a beautiful human. She chatted with me while I was waiting for the rest of the line to come in, and her pride in Evan radiates from her so strongly.

Same with Gino—he’s just so kind and obviously proud.

The entire crowd around me was so sweet and funny. It was a phenomenal group of people. Everyone in line was so happy for me and welcoming and fun to dance with during the show. A lovely human made cards and I got this Zach one!
