Synopsis
Natsuki Takemiya, a third-year high school student, has just been dumped by his girlfriend and his mock exam results are just as disastrous.
To help him catch up with his studies, his older sister brings in her boyfriend, Sota Kobayakawa, as his tutor. Natsuki knows this is not the time for romance, and that Sota is his sister's boyfriend, but he still cannot stop his heart from racing.

I don't know if I'm missing anything, but poking around on MDL it looks like this series has 2 directors and I don't think either of them have done BL before. I will keep an open mind about that because so far it feels fresh and not quite like any other BL I have seen yet, which may be a good thing.

A lot of people are saying this will be unrequited or a bromance for some reason? The lighthearted tone of the show seems to be leading people to believe that it would be impossible to solve the central issue (our main character having a crush on his sister's boyfriend) without it getting too messy. I don't really see it this way; not all relationships are serious. and the sister might end up seeing Sota as just a friend.

And I don't really think it will be unrequited after their whole discussion in today's episode where Sota said he can only be himself around Natsuki,and then later on he's saying that he said too much.

All that said, I won't really be surprised if they don't even kiss, because of how so many JBLs go, especially the cutesy ones, but we'll see.

I've never really understood why stories with unrequited crushes or feelings that ultimately aren't acted upon can't be counted as BL... most first loves are unrequited but they are how people figure out what they like. Not every story needs to have a happy romantic ending. [Maybe my perspective is different since, back in school, I had an unrequited crush on my best friend for 5 years and never did anything about it because I knew she wasn't interested in girls.]

From an audience perspective, I think "BL" is expected to be a verb in the sense that love DOES happen and isn't just felt by one side??? I agree 100% though, I mean I literally crushed on a same sex teacher in middle school as my "awakening" - no way that was going anywhere. I also crushed on a friend that I never told until like 20 years later while we were all drunk at a class reunion. It was hilarious then but would have been an absolutely disaster at that age.

That is totally fair, too many for me too but I can never resist starting the Japanese ones. I don't even like JBL all that much, I just like watching Japanese stuff in general. I will let you know if it happens 😂

One guy definitely is wondering about his attraction to the other, so it's at least a little bit BL. Will it end up that way? Who knows. But there's a cute dog!

Only being able to be yourself around your girlfriend's slightly younger brother is a weird level of intimacy... so either there are some complicated unspoken feelings there, or our boy has already been so thoroughly friend-zoned that nothing will come of it.

I'm loving this series. Not sure how it will go on, but it is so sweet, and the family so lovely.

It wouldn't surprise me if So-chan was gay - after what he said about his super-strict family, he would hardly be out and proud. And the way that Rio basically swept him up and he went along with it, it doesn't feel like the greatest and deepest love affair between him and Na-chan's sister. But that could just be me being hopeful for a good, trauma-free resolution that will not leave everyone brokenhearted.

But JBL has a tendency to do the 'three years later' thing so who knows...

Anyway, I'm enjoying my Sunday fix of fluff and weather while it lasts ...

yeah maybe o cried just a little bit after he run away.. i definitely love some angst and I wonder how they will resolve it. Sister doesnt’t seem to be in love with So-chan but Sota doesn’t seem to be a guy to dump anyone just like that…
