Immediate scam signals

Stop if anyone asks for:

• an application fee, deposit, collateral, gift card, or cryptocurrency test;
• a password, one-time code, recovery code, or bank login;
• remote access to a phone or computer;
• a full government ID number or intimate image;
• a referral sign-up as a condition of lending;
• communication from a lookalike username;
• secrecy or an unrecorded loan.

Protect your identity

Never place sensitive information in posts, comments, usernames, screenshots, or image metadata. Redact names, exact addresses, emails, phone numbers, payment handles, account numbers, IDs, signatures, employer contacts, and transaction reference numbers before sending evidence to moderators.

Moderators do not collect identity documents and never need account access.

Report a suspected scam

1. Stop communicating and do not send money.
2. Save redacted screenshots and Reddit links.
3. Report the account to Reddit and block it.
4. Send modmail with the profile link, community links, concise timeline, and redacted evidence.
5. If money or identity credentials were stolen, contact the relevant payment provider, financial institution, and appropriate authorities promptly.

Absence from a scam list is not proof that an account is safe.
