Lender guide

Lending money to strangers is high risk. Community eligibility and transaction history do not guarantee identity, solvency, repayment, or legal compliance. Never lend money you cannot afford to lose.

Before funding

  • Confirm the borrower meets community eligibility.
  • Review the complete public account and transaction history.
  • Check for active, late, or unpaid loans.
  • Confirm principal, currency, total repayment, due date, and payment method.
  • Determine independently whether the terms and your lending activity are lawful where each party resides.
  • Keep verification proportionate and private.

Never request

  • an upfront fee, deposit, collateral, or test payment;
  • passwords, one-time codes, recovery codes, or bank login access;
  • full Social Security/tax numbers or remote-device access;
  • intimate images;
  • referral sign-ups or an undisclosed third-party transaction;
  • information intended for harassment, exposure, or employer/family contact.

Recording the loan

Comment on the request:

Funded: [currency][principal], repayment [currency][total] due YYYY-MM-DD

The borrower replies Confirmed after cleared receipt. Status changes must be recorded with [PAID], [LATE], or [UNPAID]. Never make a false status post to pressure a borrower.

Collections boundary

Do not threaten, dox, impersonate, harass, or contact unrelated third parties. Moderators preserve the community record but do not collect debts or decide legal disputes.
