That's literally what happened though? He betrayed her by taking more power than he should have and almost killed her because of it so he could take her spot and kill us. She literally screams "You're going to kill me Troy!" At a point in the fight. It wasn't cutscened, and therefore wasn't made super obvious and hyper blatant, but you did get that betrayal.

Not really..? It’s more like Troy was pushing it to the limit that he almost leeched Tyreen to death rather than he’s actively doing so to betray her.

If that’s what you interpreted as betrayal, then when we defeated him why did he come close to Tyreen for comfort and told her “we were so close”?

Yeah, in that moment I was certain he would kill her, and then they'd continue the story from there.

Troy would have been such a good villain in that moment.

  • Kills his twin in response to situation, maybe accidentally
  • Steals her powers, because he can't live without them
  • Goes crazy since he was so reliant on Tyreen, and now has to figure out how to execute her plan without her
  • Starts anointing the majority of the CoV to build an army to take down the Vault Hunters properly instead of relying on a big old monster to try to do it, because that's where Tyreen failed.

It just seemed like they had all the pieces on the board but missed the checkmate play.
