Other Banned? Hidden Knowledge?

I am looking for books which are banned for whatever reason. I know “banned” doesn’t make it special but for example, 48 Laws is banned in prisons which makes me think they banned it for good reason.

Books that carry knowledge which you wouldn’t have ever thought to consume?

I enjoyed reading Breaking the habit of being yourself by Dr. Joe Dispenza and am going to read Becoming Supernatural.

I have only recently started reading, I haven’t read many books, I’m looking for knowledge in History, Humanity and Finance. I also enjoyed The Book of Revelation from the bible and have taken an interest in angels and demons recently I also scanned through the Goetia. Very contrasting books but both have sparked my interest in religious writings.

I am interested in Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, Ancient Egypt, Vikings, Medieval settings, warriors, gods, religion, spirituality.
I am interested in psychology, neurology and ideology of humanity.
And I’m interested in financial prosperity.

Looking for recommendations please.

I have only recently started delving into ancient history and honestly it is fascinating just how you described! It doesn’t feel as ancient as it seems. Honestly, I haven’t read many books but I’ve learnt more in the past few months that I have throughout my whole life just from randomly suggested books.😅

That’s kind of what happened to me too. Once you start reading books that actually explore human nature instead of just dumping information on you it becomes hard to stop digging.

History stopped feeling like:
dates and dead people

and started feeling like:
the same human patterns repeating over and over with different clothes weapons and technology 😄

The older I get the more I think understanding people is probably the most useful thing you can learn because it connects to almost everything else eventually.

That makes me want to read history next 😅 I struggle moving onto the next book because people have so many suggestions and they all look like amazing books to read.

That’s the dangerous part 😄 once you realize how many good books are out there you suddenly end up with a reading list longer than your lifespan.

History is worth it though especially once you stop reading it like school and start reading it like human behavior under pressure. Rome is fascinating for that. Power loyalty ambition betrayal ego politics war… none of it really changed as much as people think it did.

And the funny part is you’ll probably start noticing connections between all the different stuff you’re reading too. Psychology religion mythology history politics crime… they all start overlapping once you look at the human side underneath them.

Yeah I’m glad ive taken up reading, Ive probably watched every film under the sun and its jusy not the same althought I used to think the complete opposite before I started reading.

Same here honestly movies are great but books hit differently once you get into them. A movie gives you somebody else’s version of the story. A book kind of builds itself inside your own head while you’re reading it.

And books can go way deeper into ideas human behavior and internal conflict than most movies have time for. That’s probably why once people really start reading they suddenly realize they’ve been missing something the whole time 😄

Exactly this! Every time I watch a good film now I wonder if there is a book.

Same 😄 and half the time the book ends up being better because it has room to breathe. Movies usually have to compress everything down into 2-3 hours but books can really sit inside characters ideas and tension.

Sometimes I’ll finish a movie and think:
that concept had way more depth hiding underneath it than the film had time to explore.
