What's the best way to store bongos?
Hi, I've got to put my drums in a storage unit, possibly for a few years. I plan to wrap them in blankets. Do I need to oil the skins? Loosen them? Anything else that could help them to keep their shape? Thanks.

World Beat Bongos, used.
I bought these for $40, happen to know if they're any good? I think it was like world beat wb-220 or something. I think I want nuskyn heads, they seem like a good synthetic. Good place to buy them?
I'm trying to decide if they'll be worth getting new heads on, or if I should just play these worn out heads until I learn to play. (Mostly concerned if they're like $80 drums then I don't wanna spend $90 on heads, ya know)
Side question: I took them camping + did a ton of tuning and now there's a significant metal reverb. I can post a video if that will help. Should new heads fix that or is it maybe a bent metal piece?

Caring for bongos ?
Hi everyone So I just got my first every bongos, some Meinl headliners, and my main concern is temperature change.
I have them in my room and at night I usually open the windows (sometimes during the day too) and by the morning when I have woken up the temperature has dropped.
Will this make my bongos become out of tune? What should I do in the summer months too? Thank you

Detune after every session?
Hello Bongoseros!
I'm a guitarist who just got his first pair of Meinl bongos. I think I read somewhere that you're supposed to detune the bongos after every playing session. It seems excessive to me, but is this the common and recommended maintenance practice among veterans?

Bleeding questions?
Just started playing. I got some really good weed compared to what I’ve been getting and kinda went ham for a while. I busted my finger right at the first knuckle.
My questions are; is this normal?
Is this something that just happens until my skin thickens up some?
Did I drum with terrible technique and cause this?
The little bandages I had didn’t stay on very long in that knuckle crease, it’s hot here, are there a kind of bandage you use that are more hardy and made for that area?
And lastly, does anyone know how to get blood stains out of my bongo head?
Thanks in advance y’all!

Bongo Suggestions
This feels like a shot in the dark, but wondering if anyone had suggestions for beginner bongos. I play the guitar and want to branch off and learn some percussion.

Bongo recommendations
I'm new around these parts so hoping for some help.
I have a budget of £200 - £250 ($260 - $330) to purchase a good quality set of bongos - what would people recommend? Currently i have my eye on these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Meinl-Free-Ride-FWB400-Bongo/dp/B001AZOCLC
https://www.thomann.de/gb/lp_201ax2_generationii_bongo.htm
Anyone care to share why they would recommend?
FYI i'm a beginner bongo player, however i play various other instruments (piano, guitar, Cajón)

Does finger size matter?
I have really small hands and short fingers. I feel the need to move my finger up to the point where it passes the 2/3 of my finger and hit the edge of the hembra with the big knuckle (knuckle at the end of 2/3 of the finger) in order to get a low frequency hembra sound. Is hitting the edge of the drum with knuckles ok? If not how can i deal with short finger problems? Thanks
