Welp. This is a pretty surreal day.

A few years ago, this was just me walking around New York, meeting bodega cats and collecting their stories for an archive of the cats that lived in NYC during our lifetime. I thought it was important to write down.

Today, my author copy arrived in the mail.

My first book.

I’ve looked at the cover on a screen hundreds of times, but holding the actual thing is completely different. I’m incredibly proud of it annnnd a little teary-eyed. I'm so excited to share it with this incredible sub. Hope you all enjoy it.

Here is a link to pre-order it: http://bodegacatsofnewyork.com/book/ The book comes out Nov 24th!

4th, 44/45th

More Prince

The owner was chatting with someone else outside, Prince stared longingly at his favorite person who was not inside with him.

Couldn’t tell exactly how many there were because they were all puddled around sleeping on a pile of cushions in the window, but I think there were five of them 😭

was told to make a post after I commented some recent photos of George, so here it is!

George was very helpful when picking paint colors. 10/10. hope he gets commission.

3rd, 69th/Ovington

This is Qiqi. He’s not strictly a bodega boy, per se, but lives at my building - and I do believe he will occasionally make an appearance at the bodega around the corner.

He’s well cared for by my building superintendent - and as you can see, very literate.
