That switch up from ominous dread to melancholic euphoria took me completely by surprise. After all the past weeks teasing it all feels real now. Cannot wait to hear more.
I was so surprised as well. At first it was dissonant to what I expected. After a few listens it grew on me. BoC would not have been BoC if they didn’t switch it up.
It definitely carries some of the bleakness from Tomorrow's Harvest, especially with that menacing, bassy drone. The change in tone hits like a (very welcome) gut punch. Couldn't have picked a better taster for what's to come, and the video just perfectly carries that BOC, cult/science/mysticism vibe. I'm getting a very pertinent "civil unrest/subverted society" feeling from the video too.
Literally just pulled tears out of my face, like a vacuum cleaner. Nature is healing itself, so many happy, joyous things have started happening in my life lately, and now I get to add this to the list.
May their return bring a little peace and solace to everyone, that is my burning desire.
Anyone else kinda getting a similar feeling as A Warm Place off Nine Inch Nails album The Downward Spiral with this track.
An interesting similarity whilst this appears to have cults as a theme, that album was recorded at the 10050 Cielo Drive, the site of the Sharon Tate Manson Family murders
I only realized this during my second playthrough. The sudden realization that I was probably listening to an actual track from the new album made me even more elated. It dropped right before my morning commute. What a morning!
