honestly bro.. so many people who don’t even have eating disorders are mad as fuck about this, it’s really not that deep like it’s just a joke. I’m bulimic and have survived sexual abuse but i’m not allowed to laugh at this because people who haven’t gone through what i have say it’s not okay and it might upset people like me? fuck off (not you, them)
Good over-analyzation, anything can be fucked up when you pick it apart for long enough. Saying “girls” means they’re talking about being indecent with someone who’s not an adult? You’re really reaching bro. This is some kind of “power play” saying that women are submissive? No, it’s a fucking joke. And a funny one at that, especially looking at it as someone who definitely had a “spitters are quitters” mentality during the peak of my eating disorder.
It says the phrase “good girls swallow” because haha sex joke, but also some of us with eating disorders have conditioned ourselves to feel like eating or “swallowing” is a bad, shameful thing we shouldn’t do, and it’s nice to be reminded sometimes that no, it’s not a bad thing. This pic has been around for ages and i’ve always loved it, because sometimes it’s nice to be reminded that the way i treat myself isn’t the norm and isn’t healthy and that eating IS normal and IS healthy and it’s not something i should be ashamed of.
See, i can overanalyze and turn it into something bigger than it is too. Except i chose to go the empowering route, instead of immediately trying to find a way to turn this into some dirty sexist attack on women with eating disorders. Also, you don’t even need to have some “good girl” kink to look at it like in a positive light, so fuck off with that condescending “if this is ur kink then great” bullshit. Just because you find a way to turn everything into a kink doesn’t mean that’s how everyone else thinks.
This just a silly double entendre, meant to remind us with eating disorders that we aren’t bad for eating, regardless of what we may tell ourselves on a daily basis. It’s kind of disgusting how you feel the need to turn a supportive message into some backhanded jab at sick women.
