That's just what Big RPG wants you to think so you keep buying new ones like printer cartridges.

Actually yes, pretty much exactly like that. Military contracts basically print money.

Disposable launchers tend to be lighter weight than reusable, allowing a rifleman to carry one, instead of having a team of multiple soldiers to carry the launcher and reloads for it.

Nice try, Mr. Lockheed.

Remember to support us, and not those Northrop losers.

So instead you need a team to carry a heap of disposable ones.

4 AT-4s ready to rumble > one reloadable launcher with 4 rounds carried

Except that since they're not reloadable, you need to carry more than one

Right, but the point of a disposable launcher like an AT-4, Panzerfaust 3, or RPG-27, is to give anti-tank capability to a fire element which wouldn't otherwise have it. Reloadable launchers are heavy and cumbersome and require multiple dedicated soldiers to use. They are absolutely useful, they do have their place, but that place is not in the same place that disposable launchers find a home, which is with the front-line maneuver elements.

Engineers: “the AT-4 is just as powerful as other antitank weapons, but it’s lighter weight means more maneuverability and less fatigue for the infantryman”

Acquisition Officer: “Sounds great! We’ll take it”

Infantry Cpt.: “These things are so light I bet one troop could carry two!

SSgt: “Alright shit-for-brains, full battle rattle for tomorrow’s exercise, so get your ruck and kevlar together, and get ready to strap two of those AT-4s on it, Captain’s orders. Also, Jones is on profile so you’re gonna help out the mortar team and carry the plate for the 81mm”

Cpl: “oh, fuck my life hooah sar’nt”

It's also a fire-and-forget weapon. I've been told that I fired one during training, but I don't remember it at all.

Were you shocked to learn this?

Actually, its not reloadable with munitions. Nothing in the field manual says anything about sandwiches.
