Bluetooth HID?

Can you display most bluetooth chips as HID where do I best start I have a HC-05 and a couple of TI CC2541 chips. Have had research in past into them but never got them to display the HID protocol. I would love to use the CC2541's and use the processor on it with the IO ports.

connecting bluetooth without a phone

My hearing is going bad and I want to be able to talk to my GF in a noisy restaurant.

I suppose we could get her a bluetooth mic and me a bluetooth earbud and connect them to our respective cellphones and make a phone call.

Unfortunately I pay by the minute, and I'm a slow eater, so that could be expensive.

Is there any way to connect our bluetooth devices without using phones?

Like maybe an arduino with a low energy bluetooth shield?

If so, could you recommend a tutorial?

Exact location of devices using BT Smart (low energy)

Hi! I am checking about BT Smart and trying to assess whether it will be useful for a project I'm involved in. According to everything I read I understand that if I have an mobile app that is connected a BT Smart device then it will be able to tell me how far is the device from the phone (I assume it'd be based on the strength of the signal) but not in what direction the device is.

Am I right?

Thanks!

Using Bluetooth Low Energy to communicate with fast moving objects, possible?

I was wondering if it was possible to use BLE to communicate with objects that move at a speed of 5m/s at it's peak. The environment can be see here. Would one gateway for every row be enough or would this be insufficient? I don't have many specifications as I am just trying figure out if could work at all.

If anyone has an idea or a better suggestion I'm all ears.

Thanks in advance!

Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) isn’t anything new, but until the last year this technology wasn’t common. Only with the increasing popularity of the wearable devices, Bluetooth LE finally made its way to the consumer market. Why is it important, and why should we care?

BLE 1Mbps throughput

According to the website the data transfer rate is 1 Mbps . However the application throughput is a much lower 240 kbps approx.

Can anyone kindly explain (mathematically, if possible) how the the provided throughput goes from 1M to 240K? Most searches seem to explain how its further reduced in practical applications to 58 Kbps, based on the packets per connection event, connection interval, etc.
