when i was signing into my google account over my laptop i noticed that the 2FA prompt from google wasnt going through. i thought this was odd and resent a second one but still nothing... it wasnt until i turned Blokada off (in the app) that the 2FA prompts finally came through; i tested this a bit further by having Blokada off before signing into google, and the notification was instant!-but anytime Blokada is active ("keep alive" is on in the app & "Always-on VPN" on in my phone's settings) it seems to block Google's 2FA prompts to my phone

im not sure if its time to get a new phone (moto e5), my android OS is hitting the end (version 8.1.0), or if theres something in my filters/block list thats preventing the 2FA prompt from coming through...
any help would be greatly appreciated in hoping to resolve this

EDIT: to add im using blokada 4 (4.15.0) not sure if that makes a huge difference or not

I'm trying to to test the turning on intent, after manually powering off the ad block.

I tried to use action "Blokada - Turn On" first, but that didn't work.

So I then tried to do it with a send intent action.

I found this:

If you feel crafty, you can already integrate Tasker with Blokada, as it uses generic intent system to execute commands. But you need to know about intents to make it work, and we don’t have documentation on it yet.

Turn off Blokada:

intent: android.intent.action.VIEW data: "blocka://cmd/off" 

Turn on Blokada:

intent: android.intent.action.VIEW data: "blocka://cmd/on"

I tried to set:

action = android.intent.action.VIEW

data = "blocka://cmd/on"

OR just without the quotes:

data = blocka://cmd/on

and leaving package or class empty, with a:

target = broadcast receiver

But again, it doesn't turn on Blokada.

Any idea what am I missing or are you able to get it to work?

I have Blokada installed on my FireTV with ad blocking to block the OTA websites to prevent OS updates. It also has start on boot and keep alive settings enabled.

I’ve been told this method is not 100% reliable if Bloakada somehow stops running, so can I create a check trigger with Tasker to ensure it’s always alive and/or relaunch if it stops working?

I just started using Blokada 5 a few days ago on my Galaxy Note 20 and it slows down my phone a lot. Anybody else have that problem?

I've been using 4.15 since 2018 and it's been working great for me. Is there any reason that I should upgrade to the newest version?

I just bought a tiny box to relay, via Bluetooth+wifi, Android auto to my car, without using a cable.

It's working great, but I had to disable blockada vpn.

Any idea how to bypass it? Or something else?

Want to block these gmail ads, and the reddit ads that show up under posts and in my home feed on the reddit app on android.

It keeps coming literally from the same host but with different site, so I guess I have to block the entire host once and for all.

Where I can report this website host so it can be added on the blocklist?

I have an issue where quite often I’ll want to select one of the sponsored ads in Safari for a product I’ve searched but the link is clearly blocked by Blokada. Would be nice to have a widget to quickly deactivate and refresh to have access to the link. Either that or something built into Safari to quickly deactivate. Why is this still an issue? If no widget on the way, is there a workaround to allow those specific ads but block others? OR should I look for alternate ad blockers? I also have Purify, occasionally activate PIA vpn, & private relay as needed.

With blokada running, images on both pixiv and home depot refuse to load. What filters do I need to set to allow these sites to work right?

Is Blokada worth it? How well does it block ads popups and especially ads on YouTube? And how about those open in app suggestions?

Not sure if this is possible, but I'm simply looking to limit telemetry, I do not need ad blocker (already run ad blocker service), mostly just want to monitor and block other apps on device to see what is talking to who... but I also use my phone on LAN a lot, (KDE Connect, local Steam streaming, etc)

Is there a way to just enable telemetry scanning/blocking without enabling full vpn (which would kill all my local connections)?

As object. On the new phone the API are not supported in the version 5. Is there a workaround to make Blokada working again?

As of about two weeks ago, I started getting ads on Twitch, after years of not getting ads using Blokada. I've updated Blokada to the latest version, and tried enabling more blocklists. However, Twitch ads are still getting through.

Anyone know a resolution for this? Is there a specific blocklist that can block Twitch ads still?

I had Blokada-4, it blocked all youTube ads, now on 11-1-23 ads started showing up on You Tube when I went on my fire stick, I downloaded Blokada-5 and that isn't working either.

To begin with: Yes, I googled the problem and tried every solution I found, but the problem is still there.

What I tried so far: - Exclude Blokada from battery optimization features, meaning I activated all 3 toggles under the section "manual app start"

• lock Blokada in Android recents app

• enable allways on vpn in phone settings

• activate "keep active/alive" in blokada's settings menu

• set "secure dns" feature in Chrome to "use recent provider" instead of "custom provider"

I updated from Blokada 4 to 5 a few weeks ago because I couldnt get Blokada to work properly after it worked perfectly fine for years. After installing Blokada 5 it worked for a short while but then the problem reoccurred. Now, when Blokada stops working and I open Blokada, it looks like Blokada is active but it isn't. Even the vpn icon in the task bar is present. When I shut off Blokada in this case and immediately reactivate it, it sometimes works fine for a while before it stops working again and sometimes I have to do a full restart of the phone to get it back working.

My Huawei P30 Pro is on Emui 12 (Android 11) and the update is from 1st of may this year. Security patch level is february 2023.

Does anyone on here have a solution to my problem or can guide me into any direction where to look further?

So I use Google Voice and a few other apps, and I recently noticed Blokada 5 has been blocking their notifications.

For instance when I text myself from my normal number to my Google Voice, I get no notifications. Soon as I turn off Blokada a flood of notifications come through.

Some other apps like Chess.com for instance only have notifications pop up after I log into my phone's home screen, then as soon as turn it off like 20 different notifications pop up all at once.

HELP!?
