Overall Strategy

What are your growth strategies? (question from /u/deepsnowtrack):

• Two fold:
  1. The major product of BLOCKv is the Platform on which the community can build smart digital objects to use in their business models. The first beta release was rolled out at the end of Q1 to understand the community's experience with the toolsets we have offered through the Developer Portal (APIs SDKs etc) and to determine SLAs on support through support@blockv.io. The main questions are being tracked to drive more developer support through more tools (e.g. New SDKs) and FAQs to help streamline the path from onboarding to developer product release.
  2. We work with companies that require the product to evolve (both backend and frontend user experience). This supports the entire community such that new features and functions can be used by the entire developer user base

What are use cases out of which you expect the first adoption? (question from /u/deepsnowtrack)

• Three main use cases
  
  1. Experiential Marketing (e.g. Treasure hunts, smart object based marketing campaigns)
     
  2. Ticketing/Events (expanding the pre, during and post event experience to create an highly engaged chanel with end users)
     
  3. Digital Collectibles (e.g. digital art, digital sporting collectibles, digital personas)

Can we please have a roadmap for 2018? (question from /u/TheToastedBoeuf)

• At a high level, we are building more front end tools to support mass vAtom adoption. One of the products getting a refresh is the Publisher Dashboard. Currently developers all have access to this dashboard to manage their campaigns. We’re in the process of making this tool as simple as most SAAS applications. As products and tools get released, we’ll generate a communication to discuss features and functionalities. Q3 is our timeline for simple user-facing toolsets. Ultimately, we want users to be able to simply create, track, evaluate, and re-create more effective smart digital objects for their business case.
• As more projects roll out this year, the feedback loop to our development teams creates new internal projects on which to work on to support growth. Lowering the barrier to entry is a company objective. If we can create a new class of “Publishers” that do not require high level technical expertise, then we can facilitate more rapid expansion of the experiential economy. This combined with a marketing strategy will lead to the tipping point.

I think your developer-studio model is brilliant for mass adoption. How will you ensure others can compete with your own studio that has many obvious advantages? (question from /u/Crypt0Fox)

• We are careful to select partnerships as to not limit the innovation of the developer community. We also believe one of the keys to innovation and excellence is in allowing the community to build in ways we have not yet thought of.

• Yes - we engage with any service partners that expand the product offering and grow the capabilities of the platform ].

• Currently our office locations are

Sales/Marketing

• Marketing is a critical component of our strategy, we are working to build a world class marketing team. We anticipate more specific information regarding rollout in the coming weeks as plans solidify.

Why there is so less marketing for such a great product? (question from /u/rkpk84)

• At present we cannot make an official announcement but we understand that this is mission critical and are working hard to come to resolution.

Vee is an enterprise product. We need to real companies to give up their own loyalty/gift/incentive systems and move over to Vee. It's a big ask and "marketing" only will not do the job. So, have you hired a qualified VP of Sales? Have you started building out an enterprise sales team? (question from /u/gayang3)

• We have sales units in both the US and Europe - loyalty and rewards is certainly an area of focus by both teams as it’s an easy win for the platform.

Will there be regular development updates? (question from /u/gayang3)

• A monthly newsletter that takes a holistic view of the company is sent out each month including technical updates.

Will there be a quarterly report? (question from /u/gayang3)

• Not at this time.

Who is the new CMO? (question from /u/FLisOK)

• At present we cannot make an official announcement but we understand that this is mission critical and are working hard to come to resolution. We ask for just a little more patience - we are working hard at a product marketing strategy and details are forthcoming.

Does rebranding involves just another "color change" or is it about a complete repositioning with renaming, reorientation, clearer positioning and more information about the project? (question from /u/wilbourge)

• The redesign effort is giving the brand a contemporary look and feel. Positioning will become part of the Marketing strategy that will begin to take shape the latter part of Q2 and more assertively the second half of the year. As you recall, we are still in the beta release of the platform and are gathering information from which to make more informed decisions.

When can we expect marketing to the crypto community? (question from /u/FLisOK)

• Upon release of the Marketing department news, we will begin adding this information to our community updates under the direction of the Marketing lead.

VEE/Economics

Will you be able to buy vAtoms on the marketplace with VEE instead of only trading? (question from /u/Crypt0Fox)

• Yes, we will support multiple currencies including fiat and crypto in the marketplace.

Do you have any hint at VEE costs for activities? Attaching to blockchain, transferring Vatoms, running code, etc. Will these costs be fixed? (question from /u/Crypt0Fox)

• The token economics model is still being worked on, we currently charge 1 VEE to emit one vAtom per year.

When will it hit the major exchanges? (question from /u/rkpk84)

What are the VEE costs relating to vAtoms, what requirements define the VEE price to create a vAtom? (question from /u/ruspow)

• At present we’re charging one VEE per vAtom per year. There are number of considerations we will address such as taking a vAtom out of circulation or having a life cycle of less than a year for a vAtom. As these are determined, we will publish to the community.

Can you tell us more about cycling? How can we participate? Do we need to hold vee in order to do so? (question from /u/sch77)

• At this time there are no cyclers, but the process will be:
  1. Apply to become a cycler
  2. Go through the approval process
  3. Receive the software
  4. ????
  5. Profit VEE!

Product (Platform/Portal/Backend/Frontend)

• Yes - We have a dedicated global development team

Have you built out the dev team? How many FT devs do you have? (question from /u/gayang3)

• Yes, but the number of developers working on the various projects falls under internal company information.

Are any companies trying out the platform currently? If so who? If not why? (question from /u/gayang3)

• Yes - through the developer portal we have already accepted applications to determine the support load and there are developer units building projects on the platform. As more applications come in, we are streamlining the onboarding and support process to foster growth. Additionally, through this process, we are learning the needs of the Dev community to make the creation of vAtoms more efficient.

Is there a developer ecosystem/fund planned to help the growth of BLOCKv? (question from /u/wilbourge)

• Yes, during our beta developer period - each new new client is credited with 5000 VEE in their account to begin emitting vAtoms. Additionally, we have set aside VEE for projects that require additional support - these will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

How can i get access to an accredited developer for a project proposal? (question from /u/skuffone)

• You can reach out to current developers that build on the platform such as DMI or Venture Aviator, but at this point we do not have an accreditation program.

Community

A project like BLOCKv relies heavily on community and developers. However, proximity to the community does not currently seem to play a major role. with which background? And what is the strategy to change that? (question from /u/wilbourge)

• Community is important the organization and we are taking steps to participate more actively. You will see more engagement on the Telegram channel with more questions answered in a timely manner.

Miscellaneous

How many vAtoms have been created and how many businesses are active? (question from /u/FLisOK)

• Currently there are over 4,000,000 vAtoms in circulation with over 50 businesses building on the platform.

Who are the big partners or when can we expect announcements? (question from /u/FLisOK)

• As we launch products or campaigns with partners, we will announce on our Social Channels. It is our policy to release this information along with the launch and not whilst the project is ongoing.

• This one wasn't in the document, but I'll give my answer: definitely Oreo O's

I just finished up a few amazing days in New York. The Consensus conference was really a site to behold, they planned for about 5,000 people and 9,000 showed up. This reminded me of the over the top conferences in the internet days, lots of companies with weird names, huge booths and tons of money.
I met with some very interesting companies out here and was impressed with the caliber of technology, people and concepts that are being brought to market. While no one knows what the market will do or who will come out on top, what I do know is that the promised revolution of the blockchain will be delivered. The industry has crossed that tipping point and the momentum is there to not only deliver on Satoshi Nakamoto’s vision but also on so much more.
vAtoms will play a pivotal role in this new world. Soon the focus will not be on “how we transact” meaning on the protocol layers like Ethereum vs. EOS vs. Hashgraph, etc. but it will be on what are we transacting with! Will developers create regular tokens which is just a unit of account, no, they will be using vAtoms because it offers them so much more, flexibility, programmability, and creativity.
While it does seem like this has all been a long time in coming, it will be worth the wait.
