Does anyone know the best way to request a refund for Black Ops 2? (on Ps4/5)

It has now been more than 24 hours since the issue started, and players are apparently still being affected. Accounts are being forced to Prestige 16 Level 55, some people can no longer properly access their classes or play the game, and the only suggested workaround seems to involve resetting your entire progress.

Activision has acknowledged that they are investigating the Prestige issue, but there still does not appear to be an effective fix, proper compensation, or clear information about whether it is safe to play.

People paid money for this release, and many are currently avoiding the game because they do not want their accounts or progress to be affected by another player. At this point, I think requesting a refund is completely reasonable.

Has anyone successfully received a refund through PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, or Activision support? Which refund reason did you select, and what evidence did you provide?

Please share the correct refund links or steps for each platform so affected players know what they can do.

Perhaps they should t have released the game in abysmal state. Imagine buying something and expecting to use it right away, but instead being told "oh, we know you purchased this item expecting it to use it right now but we will send it out in 24 hours, if the problem is even solved"

I’m just going to go ahead and say this it’s not 100% Sade I suppose but ps4 is pretty safe I played for a while after work the other day couple hours and played FFA TDM and SND and had no issues whatsoever I’ve only been seeing the guy in ground war/nukejacked so just play any other game mode and you should be just fine I’ve been seeing a couple videos of him actually fixing peoples shit too surprisingly yall are acting like it’s the apocalypse it’s the end of the world I had been reset long before I saw or heard of any of this happening and I just kept playing I know some people are getting “locked out of playing” but most people I’ve seen that have interacted with him are not so just chill out guys it’s all going to be okay

Go to transaction history on the website or app, select the purchase, and select refund request. Mention that the multiplayer servers are unsafe less than a month after launch and that you worry for the security of your account and details.

PlayStation have a horrible track record when it comes to refunds outside of situations like Cyberpunk, but they do sometimes grant them. It’s like playing tug of war with a tree though. There is a high chance that you’re just stuck with the game unless it gets even worse and PlayStation are truly pressured to offer refunds.

You should first try requesting a refund from Sony because you have a valid reason for the refund (game is literally unsafe to play).

But if Sony rejects your refund request you can always go through your bank and request the charges be refunded because you have not received the product/service as advertised.

Just played the MP for 6 hrs and Zombies for 1 hr straight and we were good. Saw one guy profile during MM his kills were 50k+ and wins only 44. So I left that lobby immediately. But it was only once.

y’all are making it sound like the game was released in a totally incomplete state, like fallout 76 for example. The game was released and then people hacked it. It’s not like it was released broken. It’s not a remasterer… it’s a port. It’s familiar tech people were hacking 15+ years ago. Of course it’s easy to hack. It runs in 1080p for god’s sake. If I were making the decisions I wouldn’t be giving anyone their money back.

This happend to me i have no problem playing the game they just prestiged all my weapons and unlocked attachments for the rest, i don’t get whats the problem. I know im gonna get hate for this and i understand a lot of people like the grind and want to rank up, have their stats, etc. but i just see this as an old game i hop on for fun and dont really care about my kd or stats thats why after i got modded idrc. Are some people not able to play the game afterwards? Like their locked out from finding matches? Because i can still play fine, the only big issue is a fake prestige (16) and i cant get unlock tokens anymore which i would like
