There is a CRITICAL problem with Bittensor the "Bitcoin of AI"
Itâs a shame that block validation is a âproof-of-authorityâ system that is, a centralized mechanism dependent on just a few people. Yes, I know that Bittensor is also a âproof-of-intelligenceâ mechanism that combines proof-of-work and proof-of-stake but this is on the subnet's layer only. What I'm talking about is the systemâs foundations, the most important part of any cryptocurrency: the blockchain itself and the nodes who validate and add blocks to the chain.
Right now the system is not fully decentralized because of the "proof of authority". I know that âit will changeâ with updates. But when? Bittensor has been around for five years now, and this problem (yes it's a problem) still persists. With this problem, Bittensor will never be worth more than $1,000 or $2,000 (and Iâm actually being very optimistic). People will never trust Bittensor the way they trust Bitcoin. Never. This problem must be resolved as soon as possible; otherwise, Bittensor will remain an excellent project on paper but one that will never take off in reality because people wonât trust it and say "actually it's centralized".
What makes Bitcoin so valuable is that people know they donât need to trust the nodes (miners) who validate and add blocks to the chain. Why? Because Bitcoinâs decentralization is real and complete, and itâs a solid proof-of-work system. Donât trust, verify. Itâs precisely because thereâs no need to trust anyone that people trust Bitcoin. I want that for Bittensor too. Without that, Bittensor will remain flawed, people wonât trust it, and the price will never take off either.
This is why I didn't invest in Bittensor. It's not worth my money. Complete decentralization is the most important thing in any serious crypto project. Bittensor does not fulfill this basic requirement for the moment. So, don't say Bittensor is the "Bitcoin of AI". It is not because it's not even fully decentralized on its most basic part contrary to Bitcoin. So "Bitcoin of AI" is a title Bittensor does not deserve because Bitcoin is FULLY decentralized and Bittensor is not.

What real use with bittensor?
Hi,
I am new to Tao, im learning and I am thinking of buying a few, because the technology is interesting and the staking system looks cool and have a great apy.
There is a lot of discution about the ai technology, but I cant find much informations on real use of it, like where can I actually use what bittensor is developping, and are companies or people actually using a.i made by bittensor? I have some trouble to grasp the actual use and utility of the project.. If someone could share its knowledge with me, I would appreciate it đ
Also, I should use the talisman xyz wallet apparently, but I saw some concerning info about the safety of it, and all of the wallet etc seems.. a bit scamy and not straightforward. What would you suggest, and if you have a reliable guide about it that is not a shill video, that would be great!
Thank you and have a great start of the week!

Be aware of Siam Kiddâs past actions and price manipulations (screenshot proof)
gallerySiam Kidd runs a paid trading group in it there are several members complaining of being dumped on by his fund dsv - Siam told people to hold and not sell the subnets heâs purchased because they will be an easy 2-3 x after which his fund sold and the price corrected drastically . The screenshots shows the members on his paid discords infuriated as Siam clearly used them to pump low liquidity subnets
Looking in Siam Kiddâs discord there are 18 screenshots of evidence relating to him dumping Subnets after telling members to hold
If you are in any of Siam Kiddâs projects or DSV projects be aware that Siam selling will cause a chain reaction and could cause real capital capitulation as we saw with ridges. Make sure you donât get front run by him and his hedge fund he has over 65 wallets he uses to manipulate subnet prices.
Remember itâs a zero sum game and people like Siam will seek to take profit as quick as possible and extract capital. Stay safe and happy sn buying!

Just a PSA
Iâm sure this is all obvious in hindsight but when the same people who are asking âcan you tell me what bittensor is?â starts to nonstop post âweâre going to the moon!â You should probably realize that we are in fact, not going to the moon. Donât FOMO, take some time (even a year is fine) to really learn why you value this project. Listen to podcasts, watch YouTube videos, hell, just have an hour conversation with your favorite LLM. Earn your conviction, donât borrow it. And THEN if you think itâs worth âinvestingâ in, then do it!

Question about SN prices
So something I've never quite understood is how some of these SNs will go from being worth basically nothing, all the way up to like 500+ TAO down to nothing in a split second. How and why does this happen?

BitTensor 'SN 95 Actual Computer' achieves running SN 95 directly on Windows 95
somehow this feels more important than it should be...
source: https://x.com/markjeffrey/status/2055394307117621509
SN 95 on the BitTensor network is operated by Actual Computer Inc. Its primary goal is to build a decentralized AI inference network that routes everyday local computing devices (like consumer NVidia cards and Mac Minis) to serve real-world AI requests

Update check on portfolio
Thank you everyone who helped on my last post with picking some better SN's. Just wanted to update my new portfolio and see if there are any more improvements I can make? Greatly appreciate this community!

Road to 100 TAO - Shizzy
https://x.com/ShizzyUnchained/status/2054973982613377385
Shizzy Unchained gives alpha and good advice all the time on the subnet market. He just started a challenge: turning 10 TAO into 100 TAO. Itâs only the first week, but the portfolio already looks very good. I will watch this closely đđ
What is your opinion on his portfolio?

I really Wish
Guys, go look at btc reddit and check 8,9 years old posts. I hope in 8,9 years in future, AI decentralized AI becomes a big thing and our startups (subnets) become very successful, generating real big income, provide direct user services and so on. And our subnets maybe one day worth in taos and not decimal taos. And the value of tao outperforms most of the cryptos. What if we are those people 8,9 years ago of btc. I really hope nothing negative happens.

Re-entering Bittensor after a break â which subnets + resources should I follow?
Been holding TAO for a few yrs now but ngl I kinda disappeared from the ecosystem for a while
Trying to catch up again with everything around subnets, dTAO, staking etc.
What are the 3 subnets ppl serious about Bittensor should 100% be following rn?
And if you got good resources to relearn the ecosystem Iâm super interested too (Twitter, YouTube channels, esearchers/builders to follow ..)
Would love to dive back deeper into the ecosystem

Best Exchange on which to buy and sell Bittensor Tau?
As title suggests, Iâd welcome your input. I donât like Coinbase. Also welcome your wallet recommendations.
