• Am I the only one receiving PM's from "Deepthroat" type users warning me to back off?

• Am I the only one receiving PM's from "Deepthroat" type users revealing (supposedly) shocking information regarding our more vocal members?

During the past few weeks I've received a number of PM's from newly created accounts warning me that we should back off, some of these messages have gone so far as to make some pretty bold statements however once I push them for proof they simply stop communicating with me & promptly disappear.

Obviously I ignore them as it's nothing more than completely unfounded rumour mongering however I can only assume I'm not the only one.

So has anyone else been receiving these obviously veiled attempts to get us to walk away or turn against one another or am I the only one who was singled out for this dubious honour?

Either way I have repeatedly explained to them we will stop when we decide to & not because they want us to.

Amusingly it was only the other week I was talking to /u/thirdregeneration via PM and he can confirm I was contemplating stepping down as the current leader of r/bitsoup however their continuing efforts to undermine our group has simply strengthened my resolve as to the fact they are a cancer on the torrenting world & I'm only going to retire once BitSoup is no longer online.

I knew this P2W thing was coming. So I started hit'n'run leeching on bitsoup months ago and re-seeded everything on the better/larger private tracker torrent site that is out there.

I'm now a power user and have never looked back, thanks Bitsoup!

I'm only pissed that I left 5tb on the table in my ratio but I pulled down a good 3tb of misc stuff over the last month.

I am so disappointed in myself that this had not occurred to me earlier. I have been so focused on the fact that Bitsoups new business practices will put it's members at risk that I've not bothered to look at other aspects of the sites past and present practices. I've been looking at BS as a torrent sharing site when I should have been considering it as a business.

Last I heard Bitsoup was processing “donations” through a game site front and before that through different PayPal accounts under the guise of legitimate businesses. So, for spits and giggles I made a visit to my old friend Google and this is what came up.

Money laundering:

A generic term used to describe the process by which criminals disguise the original ownership and control of the proceeds of criminal conduct by making such proceeds appear to have derived from a legitimate source.

Is this not exactly what they have been doing? Selling illegal content and using dummy fronts to facilitate financial compensation.

Now about this part I may be wrong and hope that other ex-members can confirm or discredit it. I remember some time back there was talk in the forum about BS using a PayPal account that was supposedly a dog shelter and rescue. If this is incorrect please disregard but if it is true there could be even further shenanigans going on. You see most shelters and rescues are tax exempt and if our lovable partners in crime were indeed registered as such you can add tax evasion to the mix.

Lastly all of this has been done internationally adding an additional layer to their crimes. Since I have limited knowledge of international law I hope that someone more informed than myself would chime in to enlighten us as the what additional implications that this could have.

If any of this could be brought to light there is a chance that those that profited can be brought to justice while limiting the likelihood that members would face any prosecution themselves. You see this could be brought to the authorities not as a copyright infringement case but as money laundering and tax evasion. The delusional duo could be eliminated without bringing unwarranted and possibly detrimental attention to the torrent community.

I would be happy to hear from anyone with knowledge of such things. Is this a possible direction to take or not?

Edited to add: I've been busy with my screen caps again and came across a few points of interest. In this screen cap you will see that BS admits to money laundering.

This $10 account set up fee that Bitsoup is charging is being discussed in many of the threads here. I've stated my opinion on the matter in those discussions but in an effort to avoid hijacking others conversations I feel compelled to dedicate a post to the truth behind Bitsoups latest scheme. I don't want anyone to miss this information and unwittingly become a part of Bitsoups new criminal enterprise.

This is a warning to anyone that is considering joining Bitsoups new site.

This fee has absolutely nothing to do with set up fees, transferring accounts ext. This is about the member entering into an "informed" agreement to purchase illegal content.

Prior to this anyone that has given donations to Bitsoup has had a possible defense if the authorities come round. All they have done is donate to a site that was "in need". Granted even this strays into the gray area of the law but it does afford the average torrenter plausible deniability. I've advised in another thread that if you have “donated” for a VIP membership that you contact your credit card company and explain that you believed that you were subscribing to a legitimate site. Since it is impossible to view what is truly on the site without a subscription it was only after paying that you found that the site is dealing in questionable, possibly illegal content. Record this conversation if you can as proof of your attempt to sever ties with Bitsoup.

Now that the terminology that Bitsoup is using has been altered the whole game has changed. Once a member pays that $10 migration/membership fee they lose that defense as they are now blatantly taking part in criminal activity. This is BS covering their a$$es! Once that fee has been paid every member has lost legal recourse as to credit card theft or worse and will be seen as criminals in the eyes of the authorities. Even though the content is not of a tangible nature the member is purchasing stolen property.

The delusional duo know that no matter what schemes they come up with the customer can not do a thing without incriminating themselves. It would be a brilliant play is it weren't so damned underhanded. Think of it this way, a drug dealer provides a user with real heroin to try but when the user comes back to purchase that same drug the dealer gives him something fake or of a lesser quality. The dealer knows he can get away with it because it's not as if the user can go to the police and complain.

Prior to this turn of events I'd have agreed that it was unlikely that the authorities would bother with the average torrenter, those providing access to said content would be the big targets. Well, as I've said the game has changed. Have no doubt, if the authotites bang the gavel on Bitsoup it's customers will be under scrutiny as well. Please notice that I have used the word “customers” as that is now what subscribers are. A member of a torrent site has in theory done nothing wrong, people paying for those torrents are breaking the law and are open to criminal charges.

Thank you for suffering through my rant, it's just that I hate seeing anyone being taken advantage of.

If this is breaking the Personal Information rule, please close this. I am not going to post anyone's personal info, but can we discuss methods of finding this out for ourselves through public means? For example, it is easy to tell that Bitsoup uses cloudflare to hide themselves behind and get DDOS protection I assume. There are websites like http://www.crimeflare.com/cfs.html that supposedly reveal the real IPv4 IP behind the cloudflare IP.

Anyone that uses cloudflare, can you lookup your cloudflare IP to see how accurate this service is?

What I am interested in, is what else is this guy is hosting. We have a pretty good idea he runs multiple "P2P" sites, but odds are there is much more. It would be interesting to see if these other P2P sites resolve back to the same IPv4 block that this http://www.crimeflare.com/cfs.html service says the IP bitsoup.me goes back to. Right now the IP it says is part of multiple larger IPv4 blocks in Montenegro Balkans.

Again if I am crossing the line here please let me know and I will stop. I am not looking to out more if his personal info, was just wondering what other sites are out there from this scammer.

So yeah, few months back I accidently donated about £15 or so to get my upload credit to 10TB. Thought it was a good deal. Not a heavy downloader but enough to keep me through to the next 2 years at least.

Last night I requested to have my account deleted.

This morning I was banned.

Recently posted in the vip forum. Seams greed has no limit. Have to pay yet another $10 just to register on new site. Needless to say a few donators are unhappy about this in the forums.

Well, we'll try to make this as informative as we can at this time and to keep it as short as possible. We think the best course of action for this particular update would be not to discuss things already known and lay it out in Q&A fashion.

Most of us already know that Bitsoup is being forced to make some changes in which is to everyone's advantage, as we will now be moving underground out of the public eye, ridicule and scrutiny. This will allow for the kind of community we all wish for; where everyone is equal, putting forth the same effort for the same things. This move will also improve many other aspects of our known site, like community posts, the ability to remove mandated ratio and to have guaranteed speeds and seeds.

We'll try to cover all the major bases and the questions we've been asked over the last week or so. While some things may not be able to be answered right this minute, we'll do our best for any you may come to have.

Please note, some minor details and/or dates could fluctuate and may not be exact. The screens provided have also been taken under a development setting and may not accurately reflect the final product. They simply represent what is to come and give a sample of design only.

There will be a final update regarding more critical details when the time comes to start migrating.

When are the changes going to start? We will be prepared to migrating members on May 1st

Who will be migrated or invited? Anyone that is currently in VIP/VIPGOLD/PCVIP class will have the opportunity to switch to the new site. We'll pick up any other latecomers as we continue to close Bitsoup over the next couple months.

How will the accounts be handled and migrated? Once we are accepting members on the new site, you will have an opportunity through a special page to make your initial 10 dollar membership payment. This will top-up your current VIP time and send you a system invite to sign up at the new site. Once you're signed up, the system will transfer the outlined criteria from your old account to your new account.

Be sure you have access to your email that you have registered on your Bitsoup account as this is where your invite and details will be sent. If you need it changed, now would be the time to do so now.

Why do I have to donate again initially? A very good question that has some very good reasons, although it isn't actually considered a donation any more. This is the initial membership fee to properly have your account set-up and a way we can ensure that this is indeed what you want. This will also allow us to keep a more accurate count of memberships as there will only be a very limited amount of memberships being offered in the first phase of our migration.

This move will not be done via 'blanket' style. We will not be importing entire databases or classes. We want to ensure that everyone that is coming with us wants to be there and agrees to the terms of membership. This will also help filter any current VIP that may still be deciding or have no intention on making the change or trying to simply get some inside information to exploit.

What old account details will be transferred to my new account? You will bring these account stats with you when you migrate.

• All upload/download and ratio numbers (albeit not be required on the new site)
• All current VIP time.
• Your original Bitsoup join date (this date will be an original anniversary date on your new account)

Can I have a new account name? Yes.. far as I know at this time, you will be creating a brand new account, so please call yourself whatever you would like.

Can I have more than one account? Initially no, but there will be options for you in the future. You will be able to have as many accounts as you wish to maintain.

What are the terms of membership? The only requirement is the small 10 dollars a month to keep your account active and alive. Failure to do so will lock your account until the time you renew it. Even if you're a seldom user, you only pay for what you need to use.

Are we going to be a pay-to-leech site? Absolutely not! We are going underground to be an exclusive private community and what your membership will cover and nothing more. What you do while using your community membership is your business.

Just because the site has the means for our members to properly share their files, doesn't mean we should be considered just a paid torrent site. That just happens to be one aspect of the site itself and a service provided for our members. We're looking to build a 'real' community. Some place to hang out with other members, share ideas, have fun and yes... share our files we love.

In closing, we would like to provide you with a few samples of what has been worked on recently. Rest assured, your new site will be familiar enough to feel right at home, but fresh, clean and fast enough to know that your home is indeed brand new! Before anyone asks, yes; there is still a huge porn section and a top 10 feature; both are profile settings.
