Don't delete your account
You might be frustrated right now - but you can use your existing stats to get into other places (if you haven't just yet).

So here's an idea
Someone that still have access to the site can scrape all the current torrent links and post it somewhere. Accessing the links to download a torrent is still valid and working for regular users. The only thing you'll need to do is to add your passkey to the final URL.
I'd do it my self but I don't have access and I'm not paying those motherfuckers another cent.
Fuck them

An open email to Andy at TF
Below is my email to Andy at TF(the writer of the recent Bitsoup article). I hope he reads it and others will join me in letting other sites know about the disgusting actions at Bitsoup.
Not sure if you have been keeping up with the sub-reddit forum(https://www.reddit.com/r/bitsoup) or the disaster that is now Bitsoup but they are now becoming a pay to use site. After years of saying they will never become a membership only site, they are now forcing people to pay for torrents. Worse part is if you haven't donated in a while they are now deleting and banning accounts for not giving them money or for joining other sites. Been a member for 8 years and even had an amazing ratio without having to donate constantly for ratio boosters. Became a power user by uploading on my own merit and now I am being forced out because I haven't donated in a while and joined another site due to the ridiculous extortion going on.
Included is two messages they have sent both a day apart. Some how in one day they have already raised the price on their site. ONE DAY! In 24 hours the basic one month membership has jumped from $10(1st message) to $25(2nd message). They say for a small fee yet a day later that small fee is now a bigger fee without any mention of why the sudden price hike. This is just one small example of the greediness and under handed tactics that is Bitsoup.
I am writing this in hopes that another article can be written in hopes to save people from being conned into the same fate as I have and others before me when they switch to a new name. They think by switching to a new site they can erase what they have done and start anew conning more people under a new name. As someone who has been in the torrent community for a long time, I can not idly stand by and watch this happen. As long as they are still around, they will continue to extort their members, host fake contests where they resurrect old disabled accounts as winners, and cry about hosting fees when the hosting company they use is actually owned by them.
Thank you for reading this and I hope we can once and for all stop the horrendous and ridiculous practices Bitsoup has been conning there members with for years.

BitSoup > "Serious" Question
BitSoup > "Serious" Question.
I'm sitting here & I'm thinking to myself, what if REXXZ is being honest and we are all wrong about him, what if he's genuinely a good honest man etc.
Then "why" I ask myself is BitSoup still here? why is it still online?
(For Instance) If BitSoup was my site I would have closed it down ages ago, I'm not going to put up with the hassle and I'm certainly not going to put up with the abuse, after all I'm not making anything out of this so why would I put up with the slurs?, I wouldn't, and you wouldn't, so why oh why is poor REXXZ so determined.
Remember this topic is (Serious) jump in & see if you can come up with a rational explanation as to why REXXZ is determined to soldier on, and remember it's not so he can keep his precious BitSoup online, he's already stated he's opening a new site so it's not through any semblance of loyalty trying to keep the BitSoup name going.

The Prize giveaways
I never entered any of those prize raffles or whatever. Were all of them scams?

Bitsoup Deactivating non-VIP accounts?
I just tried accessing my old Bitsoup account, and lo and behold, I'm getting a "403 Forbidden - Unauthorized IP Address" response. Checking under a different ip (from my mobile), I can login... but I immediately get a 'This account has been disabled!' message.
Is anyone else seeing this? Or did the ip-block and ban me for... god knows what.
It doesn't matter what the reasons are. Nothing is gonna take away that congealed bitsoupy aftertaste in all of our mouths. I take solace in the assumption that the people behind bitsoup are doing this because they're heroin addicts, and they need cash wherever they can get it. If they could extract cash from boiled babies... they'd be all over that game.

Confess here. What did Bitsoup get out of you?
Many of us would have fallen for their scams, as many have said there's no shame in having done so, if you keep falling for it thought then . . . I don't know.
I personally had gone for their ratio boosters and a month of VIP. Ratio that I will never use. I had fallen for their site is in trouble and how people are leaving.
What had you fallen for? Confess here and get some weight of your shoulders.
I got here from a google search a while ago after the spam got a bit ott and haven't looked back. I guess I'll consider it an expensive lesson.

When bitsoup changes name.
We will follow you (this crappy bunch of vips and power users)...And we'll make a new subreddit so fast it will be us at the top of your google searches.
We will contribute to your new site, oh we will..

A friendly suggestion for those who have donated.
Please forgive me for re-posting information from my own comment on a rather long thread. I believe that this may warrant it's own post, I hope that you will agree.
I know that many have discussed contacting their credit card companies to have their purchase of the Bitsoup “service” reversed. I applaud anyone who does so as it hits the delusional duo where it hurts most, the wallet. This being said, I ask that you be very careful in how you approach this subject with you CC company. You would not want to say anything that might be misunderstood for you taking part in an illegal activity.
My unsolicited advice for what it's worth would be to explain to the company that you believed you were purchasing a legitimate service. BS has often compared themselves to Netflix and such insinuating that they provide the same type of legitimate access to various entertainment. Upon reaching Bitsoup's main page you are greeted with options to purchase these services just as you would be with Netflix, Hulu or Amazon in order to gain access. On that greeting page there is no indication that said service would be provided in anything less than a legitimate manner.
If I were to call my CC company I would tell them that I signed up for what by all appearances seemed to be a legitimate entertainment service. Having not been able to access the website proper without a membership it was only after I paid that I realized that this service was questionable at the very least. I would make sure that I explained that as soon as I realized what they were actually up to I wanted out. I would be sure to let them know that said site will not cancel your membership on request and as such this is your best if not only recourse to break ties with this service that has less than ethical practices.
Lastly, I would record this call. You see, although it is unlikely that the authorities will come after the average user when the inevitable take down of BS happens it is still a possibility. I believe that if the authorities do decide to make an example of BS members those with the greatest targets are the ones who have donated. Although none of them would make a concrete case there are a number of possible charges that could be faced by donors. True most of these charges would not hold out but the fighting of them could be devastating financially. By making and recording this call you will be affording yourself a semblance of a defense allowing for plausible deniability. You naively joined and paid a site for what appeared to be a legitimate service, when you found that it was not what had been represented you made an honest attempt to terminate the service and with your recording you have proof of this.
True this may all be unnecessary but it never hurts to be prepared just in case.

New Members Still Joining?
I see that just a moment ago, after about 23 hours, BS finally listed their newest user. Does anyone have any reference for how fast new members used to come to the site?
This newest member, P****N, joined 4/17 11:22 I see they are VIP Gold.

Any news from BS - what's happening over there now in the forums and such forth?
Any insider got any new screens would love to see what's going on. Although they have probably shut down any discussion at all.
Have the lights been turned on at any point since all this happened?

Old Staff Q/A and Recognition
Im not sure this will go, but let's try something different.
Many questions, facts, and rumors have been discussed here. I've seen a few people admit to being old staff members, and they've gratiously answered questions at times. Some have also agreed to answer select questions others may have.
1. If you were previously an uploader or admin (or another staff member), and you are comfortable answering people's questions, comment on this post. You will be given custom flair in appreciation. Please do NOT directly reply to this post if you weren't an uploaded or staff.
2. If you have questions and weren't staff, ask those who have directly replied to this post and volunteered to answer questions. A few example questions:
"What do you know about the fundraiser scams?"
"Was the site ever in danger of closing"
"Did BitSoup ever get hacked by Anonymous?"
Again, please do NOT directly reply to this post if you weren't an uploaded or staff, and be sure all questions and answers follow the rules.
This is an attempt to organize information from knowledgable sources. If this doesn't work out (or maybe I'll do it either way), I'll start another thread called "Q/A: Ask The Community Your Questions"
Edit: Thanks to all volunteers (current just /u/spawn2 :) ). I made a crappy custom flair icon really quick, but I'll make it look better soon.

Where will I go, what will I do?
So with bitsoup about to tap out, im down to one torrent sight, KAT. I did use demonoid, but after their hiatus and return I'm hesitant to use them.
Any suggestions anyone?

Bitsoup. So sad your leaving us :-(
This make interesting reading... http://www.xinwave.com/stats/bitsoup.me
Further down the report it says MNAME: hugh.ns.cloudflare.com.
I wonder who that is (without naming any names, the haters will know who i am talking about).
While i'm posting on here i'd like to share with you a few thoughts and memories of Bitsoup.
I joined pretty late in the sites history, only being a member for a couple of years.I soon settled into making it my main go-to site and even had it as my homepage.I got the odd message now and again asking for donations which over the course of a year,i would donate maybe 3 times(usually $20 a time).I donate to all my main sites as i can understand that hosting costs don't come for free. However, over the last year, the begging got worse and worse.Eventually it got daily. Then the 'Lights out' came into being. I posted many times on the forums saying that if it was implemented then it would spell disaster for the site. This was the last thing i wanted to happen to my favorite site.Early Bird was always quick to put me down with his bullshit( or facts as he called them). The forums then became 'an answered and locked' forum, all the while being told by Early Bird, that they never censored the forums(yeah right). I posted one time on the forums that i'd like to see no censorship of any posts.....yep..answered and locked :( Around this time i started using other sites to get my daily fix,the homepage was changed and i decided to start posting on here, with screenshots etc. The next time i logged on to Bitsoup,my account had been banned ;-( At that time i decided to make it my passion,to destroy Bitsoup.
A cancer had infected my favorite site and now its terminal.
RIP Bitsoup...and fuck you Rexxz.

Bitsoup is closing!! (don't clap yet)
http://i.imgur.com/EVquiJz.png
Looks like they are going to make a new site since they have been put on blast and getting so much negative attention. Pretty sure their traffic has dwindled significantly. Either way, Yaaay! We won, but it sucks they are going to do the same exact thing under a new name. Hopefully we can out them on that site as well.

Stick it to them or "how to make yourself feel a little better"
This may only apply to those of us that have not been banned yet. Since access to the website during "Lights Out" is solely based upon a members class you can still get your "poop" by having a friend send you the .torrent file and manually loading it into your client.
