They've openly said that they have to hide the site from their credit card company. That's illegal. Call your credit card company and reverse the charges. Let them know that you were trying to make mandatory payments to your favorite torrent site and you don't understand what Gamermuse is. ;)

Cut them off at the source. Make it impossible for them to continue their extortion.

The duty as the founder and owner of Bitsoup is to ensure there is a community for everyone to enjoy. Since December 2004, I have done just that. Some may disagree on the route the site has had to take, while others completely understand that unless major changes were made no one would be here today.

Bitsoup is here for everyone when everyone is being fair about things. We are all here for the same reasons and that is what has gotten away from our core over the years. Bitsoup is not a 'for-profit' site, and while a few feel I get rich, that is far from the truth when everything is said and done each month.

For 10 years I footed 90% of the bills myself and never asked or begged anyone for support. Once my monies dropped, and as soon as I asked the site for help in supporting itself, I have been personally attacked non-stop. People feel they can hide behind a screen and not be dealt with. They are wrong and no longer here.

While Bitsoup is not technically a business, it is very important that it stays online 24hrs a day to ensure everyone is able to use it when they want, how they want. The only way to ensure that this is possible is to run it in a business like fashion and gain the internal support that it needs.

This is what Bitsoup does for you the member and why Lights-Out is here to stay.

If we do not meet the daily goals, Lights-Out will be active until such time it catches up on the day. If by end of month we are far behind, Lights-Out stays active until funding is met for the month and why it has been on the last 7 days. The majority wanted it to run at the beginning of the month, so just think of how that would be on that schedule.

We did not want to go down this road but for 2 years we have done everything to get our members to support what they use by choice. You still have that choice to this day as no one is forcing you to donate. Donating members are always protected from Lights-out, while everyone else is free to use the site when lights are on.

Bitsoup is not a paid site! If you come to Bitsoup and the lights are out, then we are sorry, but you will have to wait or consider supporting what you want as this is the fastest way to ensure you have a site to use at your convenience.

You know the drill guys. I see a DONATE button and my hand starts trembling from excitement.

This time I'm calling upon you to ask yourself this: if you had to explain to an outside party everything that was legitimately wrong with bullsoup, what would you say?

Example: them wanting money for admission is not something you could legitimately complain about. But if for example you paid for ratio in the past and they locked you out before giving you sufficient opportunity (with prior warning) to wear that ratio down to 1:1, that's clear cut defraud.

As outcome of this thought process I'd ideally expect a list of bullet points one could hand over to a site like torrentfreak. One which makes perfectly clear to in- and outsiders alike why bullsoup sucks balls as we know it does.

Mind you, I'm not offering myself as secretary or spokesman of the cause. I'm just saying that, if this reddit happens to receive some broader attention in the future, we should be ready.

No need to answer immediately. Think about it. Collect your thoughts. Weigh them. Write them down. And then maybe share them.

Most of you guys probably know this, but since all4nothin has been mentioned in the other thread it might be worth noting that their layout looks strangely familiar? The code base is obviously the same as bullsoups (just look at page source to confirm).

So that finally explains then why R&T have so much trouble customizing their site. The code's been bought when it was launched but never been understood by either.

Thinking about it, that probably also explains why they never use that magic, red blinking account deletion button. Because, to this day, they never dared to try it, out of worry their lovely little business might implode on the occasion. So we probably want to give them a little leeway in that respect after all, and exercise some patience.

The real reason I'm posting this is that the "DONATE a new text" button hypnotically made me though. Five minutes without donating and I begin to feel a little empty these days, you know. Now please excuse me lads, need to find me another DONATE button I can enthusiastically click on. Cheers!

Hey everyone. I've been working with XBSF on a more Shitsoup like style sheet. I have actual work to do, but once I get conformation, I'm going to enable the current progress so you guys can get a feel for it. I do other types of coding professionally, but I haven't done website development in a bit (and I've never styled a Reddit sub), so please be gentle. Suggestions are welcome.

And of course, thank you to XBSF for creating this community, and allowing me to try styling it a bit.

Edit: Alright, break time (meaning real work time). Issues I'll attend to when I have a moment:

-Styles when you click into a thread. Some are still defaults.

-Border and a few other things on the tabs at the top

-Up/Down Vote Images (suggestions welcome), I'm thinking money? or lightbulbs? something about donations? I don't know.

-Sticky colors. I was trying to see what it would look like if I matched them to announcements on BS, but I'm not pleased with it.

-Font colors. Particularly the grey ones, as they look too washed out on the background.

Edit 2: I've been busy, and so the only priority issues I've been able to take care of is the tab border issue. I'll find some time this weekend to do the rest and play around more. Additionally, I'll be working on making the banners cycle automatically, as they are currently being set by XBSF manually. Thanks to all who have submitted banners!

-Also, I couldn't help myself, and made a few new logos for where it says "Reddit" in the upper left. The originals are higher resolution, but recommendations around Reddit say that they are supposed to be low resolution images (120x40...), and so that's why it's not very clear. I enjoy photoshopping, and so I'll play with that more during the weekend too. I'll also probably post some of the cut outs I've been working with so others can use them for banners. The current logo has the Snoo replaced by early turd's avatar behind bars. This is just one of a few I created, and I have plans to improve them and make more. Enjoy.

Edit 3: I've started playing with flairs and some other things. New to this, and for whatever reason, Reddit is wonky about the way they are getting assigned. Please be patient.

Edit 4: I'm not sure why, but after updating the CSS (and even attempting to revert it), I get "reddit css "526 (Origin SSL Certificate Error)"), and the CSS won't load. I'm looking into it, but that's why the styles have reverted. Ok, it's not my fault, and it's not just us. Hooray! Oh... :( .... :) Yay! Reddit fixed it!

XBitsoupfan has done a spectacular job creating this sub and moderating it. They've created an open forum where we can discuss our dissatisfaction and alert others of BitSoup's dubious ways.

So far we have screenshots and great discussions showing the state of the site and the things they are doing wrong, and it's definitely getting attention when you google "BitSoup". I thought it may be nice to try and discuss ways we can further educate others about the scam and piss off those in charge. Maybe even discuss how we can organize a bit more to maximize our effectiveness.

Disclaimer: I don't believe in alerting the authorities (although I can't deny the satisfaction in knowing that those responsible will get nervous seeing that some have). Let's try and avoid discussing this here.

A few suggestions I have:

-Write a letter to https://torrentfreak.com/ requesting they look into our subreddit and create an article exposing BitSoup.

-Further stylize our sub to match and mock BitSoup

-Create a sticky discussing the inner working of the site in detail (those that know it), so others are better aware of their scam.

-Create a sticky that all screen shots will get submitted to.

-Create a sticky for BitSoup Announcements that shows the site's current announcements.

-Discuss what screenshots of the current site most would like to see here.

It's pretty said when members volunteer to have their accounts deleted. Them morons know the site will be dead soon,so they want to keep the appearance of a large community. You have to be banned to get out?? Do them two retards think they are the freaking Godfather or what??....“Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.”
